Bailey's POV
It is 5.30pm. About 45 minutes before we need to leave for our date. Ashley would come home in half an hour and then it will take 15 minutes for her to get ready. Ok. 45 minutes of freaking out. I don't know if she will like where we're going. We were going for a picnic, just like we did on our first date - at a cliff. It's got the most amazing view of the city, I thought it would be perfect...
"Hey Piper, do you think Ashley's gonna like this date?" I asked Piper who was sitting at the buffet kitchen drinking a smoothie.
"Of course, this is so thoughtful of you!" She said.
I pulled out a bread loaf and butter. I buttered 8 pieces of bread and put tomato, cheese, and lettuce on them. I put a piece of bread on top and cut them into triangles.
"I hope she thinks that..." I trailed off leaving my thoughts hanging in the air.
"But what?" Piper stood up and came over to me.
"Well," I turned to face her. "Don't you think she's been spending a lot of time with Drew lately?"
"Yeah she is, isn't she," Piper rubbed my back and massaged my shoulders. "Hey hey but don't think for one second that Ashley doesn't like you anymore, she really does! I promise!"
"Ok...I should probably go get ready,"I said.
I put the sandwiches in the picnic basket with 2 cans of coke zero. I also put in 4 pieces of chocloate brownie. I went into our room and pulled out a button down shirts and jeans. I put them on and then paired them with black hightop converse.
I heard someone pull up out side and looked out the window. Drew and Ashley. I couldn't hear what they were saying, I could only see their lips moving. Ashley got out of the porsche and hugged Drew.
OMFG did she just do what I thought she did?
Omigod that bitch!!
I walked out of the room to get the door.
Just play it cool Bailey.
Act like you didn't see anything.
I opened the door and watched as she walked up the driveway, turning around to wave good bye to Drew. She turned back to face me.
"Hey hon!" she said and hugged me. "Woah your like ready to go, let me just take a shower and get ready!"
"Ok take as long as you need," I said.
We went inside and I sat on the couch, leaving Ash to get ready. I put on the news - boring I know but someone needs to catch up on it.
10 minutes passed and I heard footsteps approach me I turned around and saw Ash coming towards me. Her hair was in a side braid. She had on skinny jeans, a patterned halter top and paired them with combat boots.
"Is this ok?" she looked down at herself.
"It's perfect - you look amazing!" I said getting up and grabbed her in a hug.
She hugged me back and pecked my cheek.
"You don't look to bad yourself," she teased me.
I gave her a look and picked her up.
"Hey! Put me down!" she squealed.
I'd already put the picnic basket in the car so I just carried her to the car. I put her in the front seat and closed the door. I went to the drivers side and got in, turning the ignition.
"So are you gonna give me a hint as to where we're going?" Ashley asked.
"Nup, your just gonna have to guess!" I chuckled.
"Aww come on!!!" she pleaded.
"I'll give you a hint," I said, "You will never guess it!"
"Is that all the hint is?" she seemed shocked.
"Yeah!" I said.
"Am I gonna love it?" she asked.
"Yup!" I said.
We pulled up to the cliff. There was a table, grass and an amazing view. I remember when there used to be a railing there but once we were on the field and a physco druggy pulled it off and jumped. The council just never replaced it.
"Omigod Bailey!!" the look on her face was priceless. "This is amazing!"
"You like it, huh?" I asked and grabbed the picnic basket out of the car.
"Like? I LOVE IT!" She ran over to me and I picked her up, spinning her around.
I laughed and put her down. She kissed me on the lips and grabbed the basket off me.
"The least I can do can help!" She said and opened the basket.
She pulled out the picnic rug and lay it on the ground. She placed the container of sandwiches on the rug along with the cans of coke zero and the brownies. I sat down on the rug and opened a can of coke. Ashley sat beside me on the rug opening a can as well.
"This is my favourite place in the world!" She said peering out to the city view. "It even beats Paris and that was amazing!"
I chuckled. "The view is hard to beat isn't it!"
She nodded. I stared up at the sky, putting down my coke to lie down. It has always been so peaceful up here. I looked over at Ashley and she met my eyes.
"I love you," I said.
"I love you," she replied.
I reached for her hand and stroked my thumb over it. She kissed my hand and I kissed hers back. Nothing needed to be said. We both looked up at the clouds and for 20 minutes spotted special shaped clouds.
It was well after night had fallen and all the sandwiches were gone. We'd had all the brownies and finished our cans of cokes. We packed up everything and stood at the cliff. We had our arms wrapped around each other.
"Can't we just stay here forever?" Ashley joked. "Just forget all the missions every thing, the injuries, the past. Let's just escape."
"Nahhh Piper and Seth will be wondering where we got to," I said.
"Aww finnnneeeee," she said pulling me to the car. "Let's go then."
We hopped in the car and drove back.
"Thank you for the best night of my life!" She said as we drove up the driveway.
"My pleasure, thank you for the best day of my life!" I replied and kissed cheek.
I got out the picnic basket and we went inside. I put the basket on the bench as I was going to clean it out tomorrow. Piper and Seth were already in bed so we went to bed. I took off my shirt and jeans putting on sweat pants and leaving my shirt off. Ashley put on her pjs and we hopped in bed.
Ashley's head rested on my chest and her eyes fluttered shut. I watched over her for an hour or so as mine did the same.
