My eyes fluttered open to the sound of a fire alarm. I sat up rubbing my eyes.
Where am-
Oh shit! That's right.
In front of me was a blazing fire. I looked around for Seth and saw him sprawled over the floor just metres away from the fire. My head was pounding from the impact of the bomb. My ears were ringing as I moved closer, dragging my self along the floor to get to Seth. I got to Seth and went onto my knees.
"Seth! Seth!" I screamed over the roaring fire. "Don't do this to me again!"
I nudged him as hard as I could, but he was out cold. Tears poured out of my eyes. I was so weak. The fire inched closer to us.
Ok come on Ashley! You got this!
I stood up and grabbed Seth's arm, dragging him across the room to the edge of the staircase.
"Seth! Can you hear me!" I yelled. "Come on Seth! C-C-Come on!"
There was no way he was going to wake up anytime soon. I checked for a pulse, moving my fingers around his neck.
Come on. Come on.
Bingo! There you are!
I chuckled. Then realised we were still inside a burning building. I nudged Seth. If he didn't wake up soon I'd have to carry him out and I didn't know if I'd be able to hold his weight let alone when I'm extremely weak.
"Come on Seth!" I screamed. "I need you to wake up!"
He groaned but didn't wake up.
"Seth!" I exclaimed, my voice in a normal tone. "Seth can you hear me?!"
He groaned again. His eyes fluttered open but blinking repeatedly.
"Seth!" I hugged him.
"A-Ashley." He stuttered, his voice very faint. "Y-you have t-to g-get o-out of h-here."
I shook my head furiously. "No! I can't!" I said strongly. "Not without you!"
"G-g-go s-save yourself." He said his eyes shutting. "I-I can't f-feel my legs. J-just g-go."
A tear slid down my cheek, I wiped it away. "S-Seth, I-I'm not leaving you here!"
"G-Go." Seth said. "Go and run FBI the way your father wanted you too."
The fire was only getting closer. I had to decide what I was going to do.
"I'm going to get you out of here."
I took a deep breath in and deep breath out, preparing myself to carry Seth down three flights of stairs. I sat him up and steadied his back in place with one hand and used the other to put his legs over my arm. I counted in my head.
3...2...1...
Holy moly Seth, you fat ass!
Jesus!
I picked him up, standing up straight and walking forward down the stairs. I tried going as fast as I could but he was really weighing me down. I continued on with my legs shaking like crazy from Seth's dead weight. I kept taking deep breaths and paced myself. I could see out the windows of the building that it was pitch black outside. It wouldn't be long before the fire sparked something electrical turning the entire FBI station into darkness.
"A-Ashley y-you don't have to do this." Seth cried out in pain.
I broke into a light jog as I reached the second staircase. Seth started to slip out of my arms. I tightened my grip and pushed forward. I looked down at Seth's bruised face, his eyes fluttering shut.
