Alina's pov The sound of the shutting of a door woke me up. I tried to open my eyes but my eyelids felt heavy. I forced open my eyes and promptly shut it back because I was not prepared for the bright ray shinning against me. I took a deep breath and tried opening my eyes again. Though I was prepared for the ray of light, I had to blink a few times waiting for my eyes to adjust. When it did, I looked around to find out I was lying on a queen sized bed in a big beautiful bedroom.

(Photo credit : Google) I looked at myself and noticed my legs were bandaged. My other wounds seem to have been treated and my clothes have been changed. This assured me that whoever brought me here didn't want to harm me. But I can never be too careful. They may just be trying to gain my trust and betray me. I tried to sit up but fell back down on the bed when my rib cage protested. I lifted up the gown I was wearing to see that it was bandaged. However I didn't give up. I kept trying till I finally and sat up. I leaned against the head board and was panting in exhaustion. The room was also starting to spin. I took deep breaths trying to calm myself. Then I started doing some spells that will help me heal faster. Just then, the door opened and a young man strolled in. Judging by his looks, he would be around thirty but I couldn't be sure. I don't have much experience when it comes to relating with men except servants and this man definitely did not look like one. With the confident way he walked towards me, I knew he must be very powerful. He got to my side and was about checking my bandages on my legs when I moved my legs away instinctively. "Sorry, it's just ticklish" I tried to make up an excuse. He looked shocked as if just realizing I was awake. "Oh good, you are finally awake " He stated. "no kidding. I thought I was still asleep " I blurted out without thinking. I quickly covered my mouth with my hands. Think before you speak Alina, I scolded myself inwardly. He smiled "you are adorable" I blushed at his complement. Don't blame me, I couldn't help it. Since he seemed to be in a good mood, I asked a questions I've been dying to ask since I woke up. "Where am I? Who are you? How did I get here?" I asked softly trying to be as polite as possible. After this stranger didn't seem dangerous. He looked cute and adorable. Don't tell him I said so. With his expression suddenly serious, he replied. "My name is Edward, personal advisor and chief commander of the army. You are in Radar. I found you wounded and unconscious in the forest where I went to hunt so I brought you to my home and had you treated. You've been unconscious since yesterday morning" When he was through with his explanation, I smiled at him "Thanks for your help sire but I must get going" I made a move to climb down from the bed and stand when he put his hand out to stop me. "Hold on a minute. Your wounds are not healed yet and you are still weak" I tried to make up an excuse quickly so as not to look suspicious. I can't possibly stay here. It's too damn dangerous. "No sire, I must get home. My family must be very worried" I ensured my voice was laced with fear and worry. "I'll send someone to let them know you are here. What's your name and where are you from?" He smiled assuringly while waiting for an answer. "Erm... I- I come from.... " I tried to think of an excuse but my mind was blank. I thought about calling a random village but since I've been enclosed in the palace right from birth, I didn't know the name of any village I couldn't possibly tell him the truth.What am I going to say 'Excuse me sir, I am the long awaited empress of light from the prophecy, it nice to meet you?' Or that I no longer had a family, no thanks to Alice. Who knows what his reaction might be. He could laugh in my face thinking I'm crazy or he could hand me over to Alice. No thank you. He might be a spy for Alice or one of her subordinates. My mind kept racing and my heart kept beating fast. I began to panic. My heart beat was beating so erratic but I couldn't stop it. Oh no, what do I do? My head was filled with different scenarios and I began to panic. If he turns out to be an enemy, there's no way I'll be able to defend myself since I'm still in weak. My sisters wherever you are, please protect me. I prayed. I gulped. I'm screwed.
