"Shea! Come in!" Vanessa smiled at me from the Brooks' doorway.
I nodded and walked in. "It smells amazing in here."
"We're making brownies!" She laughed and tossed her hair behind her shoulder.
"Sup, Ferris Wheel?" Beau said, biting into an apple.
"Nothing. How about you Beau tie?" I glared at him.
"Seriously you guys?" Vanessa asked, rolling her eyes.
"He started it." I defended myself.
"Whatever!" He shot back at me.
"Quit, you two." Vanessa glared at us.
"Sorry, babe." Beau slinged an arm around her and they walked into the living room.
Grudgingly, I followed them.
"Hey, look who's here." Luke smirked at me.
"I'm still mad at you." Jai sad crossing his arms.
I snickered. "It was a lesson well learned. Don't ask me for the answers..and listen to the teacher!"
He just rolled his eyes. "Whatever, Shea!"
Smirking, I sat down on the couch. "Vanessa! I forgot to tell you something!"
She smiled. "What?"
"So, you know Andy Knoble?" I said excitedly.
"Wait..super hot senior guy?" She asked.
I nodded. "He asked Katie if I was available!" I squealed.
"Oh my God! What if he asks you out?" She yelled.
"I hope he does!" I smiled.
"Would you say yes?"
"Well, duh!"
"Quit being such girls!" Jai said, annoyed.
"Quit being such a guy!" I laughed.
"You guys would make a cute couple." Vanessa said, ignoring Jai.
"Really?" I smiled.
"Definately. You'd be adorable!" She smiled back.
"I would have to disagree." Luke popped in and I raised my eyebrows at him.
"Why? Because you don't like the fact that I'd be happy?" I shot at him.
"No, because..I just don't think you guys would be a good couple." He said simply.
"And why not?" I asked.
"Well..first of all have you seen his hair? It looks like he uses a whole bottle of hair gel on it everyday!"
"No, it doesn't."
"Yeah, it does. And I can't stand his voice. It's so deep and scratchy. He sounds like a vaccuum that sucked up a bunch of broken glass."
I giggled a little. Yeah, that was a good description of his voice but it was sexy. "Anything else?"
"Yeah. You guys wouldn't look good together. Personally I think you could do a lot better. I mean lets face it you are a pretty girl."
I stared at him in shock. No way Luke Brooks just said I was pretty. There's no way. I glanced over at Vanessa who was grinning at Luke. Did I not get the memo? What's going on here?
"I mean. People say you're pretty.." He started blushing.
I heard Jai mumble something and Luke glared at him.
I started to say something but my phone started to go off.
"Hello?" I answered it.
"Hi, sweetie." It was my mom, Tracy.
"Hi, Mom."
"Are you at Vanessa's house?"
"Uh..I'm hanging out with her, yeah."
"Well, I need you to come home. We have that party with my co-workers this weekend, remember?"
"You mean you have that party. And you want me to help you decorate."
"Exactly. So, please come home now."
"Alright, I'll be there."
"Okay. Love you, bye." She hung up.
I turned to Vanessa. "Hey, I have to go help my mom set up some party."
"Okay. Well, we can hang out tomorrow." She stood up and smiled.
"Definitely. I'll see you guys later!" I waved and walked out the door.
The whole way home, I had butterflies in my stomach. Luke Brooks told me I was pretty. Why was I acting like this? It's not like he was effing Justin Bieber or something. But maybe it was because we really didn't like each other. Or did we? I guess I did have a better relationship - no, friendship - with Luke than any of the other boys but we still weren't friends.
I shook my head trying to get all of those crazy thoughts out of my head. Stupid butterflies. Stupid Luke. Making me feel all weird. Curse his gorgeous eyes, hair, smile, face. He just needs to stop being gorgeous. It's an unfair advantage.
What? No. I mean..ugh. What is wrong with me? Why do I feel like my stomach is about to explode and I'm just thinking about Luke? Stupid life. Ugh.
