My phone was going insane on my bedside table.

No, it was my alarm clock.

Wait, what was it?

I sat up suddenly and looked around. My alarm clock was silent, as was my phone. But there was an extremely loud beeping. Like an alarm.

"Mom?" I called.

Then I realized that she was most likely at work. I got out of bed and walked to my door. I felt a strong heat radiating from outside of.

It made sense now. The alarm. The heat.

"Holy shit! The house is fucking on fire!!" I screamed.

I didn't know what to do. Open the door? There was no way I could climb out the window. I was on the second floor. I quickly grabbed a towel from my hamper and opened the door with it.

Flames flashed in front of me and I froze. I couldn't move.

My thoughts were bunching up in my mind and I couldn't even comprehend them.

"Are Bradi and Vanessa here? God I wish they'd tell me when they just come over and spend the night. What about my mom? Why isn't anyone here to help? HELLO! MY HOUSE IS ON FIRE." I thought.

My lungs burned and I carefully made my way down the stairs, avoiding the flames. It soon became almost impossible because they were everywhere.

"MOM!" I screamed.

I coughed and began to cry.

There was no where to go. I was trapped on the platform in the middle of the staircase. Trapped. I scooted to the corner and curled into a ball.

Help me, I thought. Someone please help me.

I knew I was going to die. This fire was going to kill me.

The flames got closer and closer. A cracking sound, different from the fire crackling, made me look up.

The ceiling was caving in.

"No, no, no, no, no," I said aloud.

Shea, you idiot. Why didn't you call the fire department?

My phone was in my room, still. I couldn't get to it. The floor boards shifted. They creaked. The ceiling did too. Before I knew it, boards and insulation fell from the ceiling in front of me.

The heat burned my bare legs and arms. I could barely breathe.

"LUKE!! VANESSA! BEAU, BRADI! JAI!! DANIEL, JAMES! SOMEBODY FUCKING HELP ME!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

Of course, no one came. Like they could even hear me, anyway.

Just as I'm about to give up and admit that I'm going to die, I feel arms grab my waist and yank me back.

It wasn't possible. The wall was there. Well, yeah, was there.

I wasn't even able to see who pulled me back when I fell unconscious due to the smoke.
