after 20 minutes of hesitation, joba and matt made their way back into romil's apartment. the two boys were met with blank stares and pitiful smiles. matt noticed that jade wasn't there anymore, but still felt like he was seen differently now. joba shook his head and rubbed matt's back softly, knuckles running up and down his spine and calming him. joba and matt took the seats next to ciarán, awkwardly smiling at him.
romil felt too much tension was in the room and decided to propose a fun game to break time, truth or dare. this idea got some sighs, eye rolls, and chuckles due to romil's excitement. romil smiled as he clapped his hands together, humming. he looked right at ciarán, asking truth or dare, the small boy not too excited to be there.
matt was so involved in the game that he didn't notice when joba fell asleep against him. joba's body relaxing as matt rubbed his back, leaning his head against the dark haired male. it was ians turn and he had a loaded question just for matt.
"hey matt! truth or dare?"
matt yawned at the dark boy, growing sleepy and his right side of his body going numb due to joba.
"truth."
matt watched as ian smiled, his teeth gapped and crooked. matt took note of how cute the gap was. matt braced himself as ian prepared to ask the question, jaden telling ian not to pry into matt's life, ian of course not listening to his boyfriend.
"do you like joba?"
matt hummed for a second, debating whether he should answer the question truthfully or lie right through his teeth, choosing the first one.
"i...i don't know. he's really sweet and funny! his hair is cool and his voice calms me down but apart from that, i'm not sure..."
the rest of the boys looked at each other, as if they were agreeing to something without having to speak.
ian laughed, snorting as he dramatically wiped fake tears from behind his wide framed glasses. he sighed, smiling.
"you're so fucking whipped, matt!"
matt threw a pillow at ian, shushing him as joba stirred in his sleep, unaware of what was happening around him.
