joba just stared at ian, bewildered by what he just said.

"matt's crying about what now?"

ian rolled his eyes, annoyed by how dumb joba was being. he knew what he did and why it was tearing matt to shreds. ian just shook his head and patted joba's shoulder, frowning.

"you need to talk to him, russell. not me."

ian walked off. the use of joba's name stung him. it was only ever used in very serious situations, such as this one. joba sighed as he slouched back against the creme toned walls behind him. he decided that ian was right and that he had to talk to matt.

~an hour or so later~

joba didn't leave the room him and ian talked in, too busy thinking of a way to get matt back, his best friend.  he missed matt. joba shook his head and pushed his body off the wall, sighing. he had decided now was the time to talk to his best friend, hoping not too much damage was done.

joba walked out to the living room, easily spotting matt. the shorter boy was in a lime green and yellow hoodie, joba recognized it as his own. a soft smile sat on his lips as he watched the tv, eyes still red from crying and his face flushed. the taller if the two thought he looked beautiful like always.

joba made his way over, sitting next to matt. he decided to be the one to propose the idea of talking.

"matt, we should talk."

matt just stared at the other male, nodding. joba sighed as he pushed his head back, words caught in his throat. matt stares his own sock-clad feet, humming.

"matt, i'm so sorry if i hurt you. i really do love you, just, not in that way. i just got out of my relationship with zuri and used you for emotional comfort. i feel terrible for it. i don't want this to ruin our friendship by any means, matty. all of my actions were either friendly and you took them out of context or out of pity."

matt felt his blood run cold as joba ran his fingers over his knuckles. his stomach twisted as soon as joba finished his speech, struggling to piece everything together. ian was right, joba didn't love him.

"okay."

"matt, please-"

"no! i'm absolutely in love with you! that wasn't just sex to make me feel better, russell! that was raw emotion, passion, and love! every time i laid my head on you or i held your hand, i thought you loved me!"

matt's face was flushed as he cried out in pain. he was hurt, led on, and most importantly, he lost his best friend. he sighed, pushing his hair back and wiping his tears. matt stood to his feet shaking his head, he needed to get away from everyone. he couldn't handle this.
