Gabe returned with a good-sized fish.

"Congrats." Clem said clapping quietly, "You caught the Gabe-fish.

He grinned and started working on a fire.

Gabe had done the best he could to help Clementine recover, he gave her extra food(which she didn't want to take until Gabe said the more she ate the quicker they could go after AJ)gave her fresh water from his water bottle(she didn't like that either as she didn't want him sick but her canteen was covered in blood and mud so she agreed) and he even helped her outside to breath fresh air("You don't need to carry me, I'm can walk...kinda" she had said accepting his help to walk but refusing to be carried.).Over the next two days Clem had got healthier and stronger, until she started walking with Gabe on his fishing trips. Gabe had turned out to be pretty good at it, he could usually catch at least one in an hour.  She asked Gabe about what had happened during her illness and he told her.

"Wait-so you dragged me for miles in the rain with walkers following you?" She said walking in the spring leaves with Gabe to the stream. She had slept a lot over the last two days so they hadn't talked much. " You know that the day before that you couldn't even pull a trigger to save me."

"Yeah, I guess I learned something from you after all." Gabe said, his hatchet in his left hand.

"And what's that?" Clem asked, a emptied backpack in her left hand.

"To never give up on a friend." He answered, smiling at her.

She smiled back. Their eyes met and Gabe was tempted to hold her hand, she was swinging it while she walked and his right hand was free. He shook it off, "Not now."    "Why not now?" Asked his brain. "She's....sick. I shouldn't take advantage of her." Gabe replied.       "She's walking with you and she's been acting normal. Just make a move already!"  Gabe thought of the thing he had been working on ever since Clementine almost died, which was in his backpack and he considered showing it to her. He pushed the thought away. "It's not ready."

"Think we'll be eating fish tonight?" Gabe asked Clem quickly realizing he had been quiet for a while.

"C'mon Gabe, when was the last time you went back empty handed?" She said shaking her head playfully.

"Yeah." He moistened his lips, "he was glad he was friends with Clem but he liked her as more then that and he had a hard time not saying that out loud. With Clem getting healthier he wondered if it was almost time."

Clem smirked at him, "'Yeah', what kind of answer is that?" Clementine was happy. "Gabe was friends with her again, he was nicer then ever, and for the first time in a long time she felt....secure. She knew she could count on Gabe with her life, something she didn't do with many people."

They smiled at each other, looking into each other's eyes.....before Gabe tripped and face planted into the ground.

"Gabe!" Clem laughed as he turned onto his back.

Gabe laughed too, because it didn't really hurt and Clem's laughter made him happy.

"Alright..." She said, stopping laughing and offering him a hand.

Gabe took it and tried to pull himself up but Clem wasn't strong enough yet and she fell on Gabe. They were nose to nose and  Gabe's heart panicked.

Gabe laughed, "I though you were going to help me!"

Clem laughed back, "I was! You pulled me down." She said getting off of him slowly as to not hurt him.

"Did not!" Gabe protested lightly.
