Clementine coughed, sputtered and flew upwards, water dripping down her face. "Wha-?" She said before being grabbed by Gabe.

"OH THANK GOD! You're okay! You're okay!" Gabe said hugging her, tears coming freely down his face.

"Gabe?" Clem said slowly hugging him back. She wasn't sure what was going on.

They hugged each other for a few minutes, Gabe, unbelievably happy and Clem, too confused to pull away.

"I-I can't believe it!" Gabe said finally pulling away and Clem could see the tears in his eyes, "I-I thought you were dead! I threw my water at you as a last resort." Gabe said hugging her again, saying over and over, "I can't believe it, I can't believe it!"

"I'm ok, Gabe." She said, smiling. "I'm ok."

He pulled away again, smiling like if the world had returned to normal, "How are you feeling?" He asked not taking his eyes off her.

"Sick and weak.I got a headache and I feel hungry." She said suddenly she couldn't stop smiling, his smile was contagious.

"Don't worry." Gabe said scrambling over to her backpack and pulling out a can of peaches.

She took it gladly. "Gabe? Where are we?" She asked opening the can and looking around at the cave.

"Oh. I got us here after you passed out." Gabe said still not looking away from her.

"Oh....Yeah, I almost forgot I did that, agh! My head is a mess." She said frowning at her mind, which had a hard time remembering the last two days.

"Don't worry about it. It's ok, You've been really sick, just take it easy." Gabe said hurriedly.

She laid back against the cave wall and smiled at Gabe's worry, she was gonna tease him for being so worried but she realized that maybe she had been really sick. "I feel terrible, did-did Gabe look after me?"

She ate her peaches in silence but Gabe still didn't stop looking at her. "Was I really that bad, Gabe?" She asked when she had finished her peaches. "Yes." Gabe said looking serious for the first time in the last few minutes.

Clem believed him, and was thankful that he was here. "Gabe huh? I wouldn't of expected him to handle taking care of someone so well."

"It's a good thing you came along Gabe or else I'd probably be dead. Looks like I was right to trust you." She said smiling at him.

He turned red but answered without hesitation, "I couldn't lose you, Clem." He said looking into her hazel eyes.

She turned a little red but she smiled at him.

"Something is different about Gabe. He has become....protective? I wonder what he did to get me to somewhere safe, what he did to save me." She thought and looked at the dead cut-up walker in the cave.

"How are our supplies doing?" Clem asked after a friendly silence.

"Food is getting low, I tried hunting but I haven't gotten anything." Gabe said.

"If there's a stream nearby, you could try fishing." Clem offered.

"Hey, Yeah! I saw one when I was hunting." Gabe said jumping to his feet.

Clem smiled, "That's good, you wanna check it out?"

"Yeah, But...." Gabe said looking at Clem laying against the cave wall.

"Just leave me a gun and I'll be fine. Besides," She said looking down at her shirt and pants and smiling, "You've already done a good job covering me in guts, so I doubt any walkers will come."

Gabe was still hesitant.

"Gabe, I'm okay, I'm not gonna die." She said giving him a grin, "You've taken care of me and saved me, I'm not going to throw that away! I promise I'll be here waiting for you."

"Alright, I'll be back soon." Gabe said grabbing his empty water bottle and his knife. He picked up his gun and his hatchet too. He put the weapons in there places and turned to Clementine.

"You think any of this would actually catch a fish?" Gabe asked joking around.

"Nope, probably not. You should catch them with your hands." She said.

"What fish would be dumb enough for me to grab them?" Gabe asked crossing his arms.

"I dunno, there must be a Gabe fish out there somewhere." She countered.

"Hey!" He laughed.

She only give a little laugh, because she didn't have a lot of strength.

He handed Clementine her a gun from the backpack, "You remember this one?" He asked.

"Duh! I'm sick, not stupid. It's the one you gave me in Richmond." She said taking it with a smile.

Gabe nodded a little embarrassed, "Yeah, Just...wondering if you remembered it."

She shook her head, "You're burning daylight. You should get to the stream before it's dark."

"Yeah, I'm going." Gabe said giving Clem a last hug before he left, "I'll see you soon." He said in her ear. "Yeah....be careful Gabe." She returned. He pulled away and Gabe her a last smile back before he left.

Clem tried to sort out her head while he was gone, she'd have to ask him about what was true and what wasn't when he got back. One dream had bothered her in particular, she had given up on Gabe, that was all she could remember and it bothered her because it had felt so real so real that she wondered if it was.I know why I did it, but I wouldn't do it now. I shouldn't of given up! Now that I know what Gabe has sacrificed, I see that he wants me to keep going. Just like everyone else has sacrificed for me, I won't forget that again. I can't forget that again! I need to find AJ, I'm just sorry I lost sight of that. It can't of been easy for Gabe to save me, but he did, just like Lee did, Just like Kenny did! They sacrificed so I could go on, and I promise I'll never throw that away again!" Clementine thought.
