"You missed my fight." Mina whines as I get to our seats. She looks genuinely sad and I can't help but feel slightly guilty.
"Sorry." I mutter. I see that Bakugou and Kirishima are fighting, which means after their fight it will move onto the next round, which comes quicker than expected. Todoroki is back in the ring against Iida.
Without using his fire powers at all, he crushes Iida in a matter of minutes. They certainly were right on the bus, this guy's way ahead of us. Well, me at least. Even Iida would be a challenge for me, but it seems like nothing to him.
It's Tokoyami vs Bakugou next.
"Tokoyami's quirk is unbeatable, or that's what's been shown so far, I wouldn't like to be against him in the final." Todoroki says from next to me. He hasn't been present in watching most of the matches, but now he's here he seems genuinely lost. He awkwardly stood by the seats for a good thirty seconds before I got him to sit next to me. Social situations aren't really his forte."Yeah, well my money's on Bakugou." He raises his eyebrow at me and I hear Mina say "huh?" because she lost to Tokoyami. "I've just got a gut feeling." In all honesty, luck makes it easier for my to predict things if they're my main focus, and this is certainly grasping my attention. "Look," I point towards them, "Tokoyami's attacks seem a lot less powerful than the ones he used on Yaoyorozu. I have a feeling that burn bitch is gonna be victorious."
"How can you go from eloquently talking to my dad to calling Bakugou that?" Todoroki comments to which I shrug.
"I had to quickly learn to talk to people in the way that would get me what I want. Telling people what they wanted to hear often got me out of a lot of tricky situations." I'm sat forward in my seat, my elbows resting on my knees and the words flow out of my like a train of conscious thought. He probably could've asked me anything in that moment and I would've answered due to my mind being elsewhere.
"Like what?"
"Uhhhhhhhh." Luckliy for me we're distracted by the end result of the match, Tokoyami having surrendered. "Told ya." I say smugly. Then it hits me.
"Oh no. You're up against burn bitch." I say as I turn to him. "Damn I feel bad."
"Why? Do you think I'll lose?" His composure changes and he suddenly seems tense again.
"What? No! Not at all. I'm just saying," I rub the back of my neck and look away from him, "I wouldn't like to fight him. I wouldn't stand a chance. I wouldn't stand a chance against you either." I sigh and Todoroki stands up.
"I'm going to the preparation room. I have no doubt I'll see you once the match is over." With that he walks off, leaving me in the seats with Mina.
"You and Todoroki are friends now then?" she quizzes. "I mean I've never seen him be buddy buddy with someone, but you two seem to get along."
"I had a go at his dad." I sit bolt up right as I say it. It's like the words are finally processing in my head. I'm very aware of what I've done and I've been telling myself that since I kind of stopped him at the park, but now the feelings are finally hitting me too.
"You what?" Mina stutters out, clearly baffled by my sudden out burst.
"Oh my God." I say as a lot of regret but also pride hits me at once. "I had a go at the number two pro because I didn't like his attitude towards his son."
"Hold on, you had a go at Endeavor? Are you insane?"
"It was a very polite go, and the other two times I just awkwardly told him he was wrong."
