Can you guys tell I'm tryna get better at digital art? This is the first coloured piece that I'm semi-okay with.
Also can you tell I can't draw faces the same twice? I have the complete opposite of same face syndrome apparently. My side hit the floor before any sound even left my mouth.
Screaming. That's all I could do. Screams out of pure, writhing pain flowed out of me and there was nothing I could do, it was the only kind of outlet I had for the sensation coursing through me.
A twisting, burning sensation engulfed my entire left shoulder. It's an agony I've never experienced before, yet somehow I've been in much more pain then this. It's a different type of pain, but I've felt worse.
"Hara!" Kendo rushes over to me and kneels down, she awkwardly hovers her hands over me, unsure of what to do. I'm curled up in a ball on the floor, clutching my hand over the bullet wound, my hand becoming sticky with blood. "Oh God what do we do?"
She pulls my gas mask off to make it easier for me to breathe. "Why would you do that? Why would you take a bullet for me?"
"He was.. aiming f-for your chest." I say inbetween my ragged and short breaths. She pauses and thinks for a second before making her hand big and laying on the grounding behind her, the back of her palm facing upwards.
"Quick, Tetsutetsu! Help put her on my hand, then we can drag her back to camp base and hopefully get her medical treatment." Kendo yelled.
Next thing I know I'm being dragged through the forest. There are all sorts of noises but I don't know what any of them are. Feeling light headed and having a bullet inside you isn't the best mix of situations. I keep going in and out of consciousness, like when you're trying to stay awake but it's ten times worse.
I can't tell how long we were walking for because I was struggling to tell if I was asleep or not.
I only really came round to my senses when I was greeted with an ear piercing scream.
"Kiriko!" I ear footsteps running towards me and then knees hit the floor. All I can see is a somewhat familiar, blurry, pink blob hovering over me.
"Mina...?" I croak out.
"What happened?"
"I got shot." Somehow I manage to choke out a laugh.
"Someone pick her up and get her inside. Now!" I hear Aizawa's voice loud and clear before his footsteps trail off, probably to sort something out inside. Nobody moves for a good thirty seconds, it's like everyone is scared to go near me.
Suddenly, a pair of muscular arms pick me up off of Kendo's hand. At first I'm really struggling to see who it is because I'm being carried bridal style, but it seems somewhat familiar. Whoever it is, I can feel their heart pounding in their chest.
"Todoroki," Aizawa's voice reaches my ears once again, "put her on the table there." He moves more and my back hits the hard material of the table, knocking my shoulder and sending a whole knew wave of pain through me, causing me to grunt.
"Sorry." His voice is strained and shakey.
"Here, put this on the wound whilst I see to Midoriya's injuries." Aizawa throws what looks like a white piece of fabric to Todoroki. Wait, Midoriya's hurt?
"Midoriya..." I try to sit up in an attempt to see if my classmate is alright, not that it would do much since my vision is blurry from the pain.
"Hey, hey, hey." Todoroki's voice is still strained, but it's now a lot softer, almost sweet, "lay back down. Don't try to sit up. Midoriya will be fine."
I do as I'm told, then I watch Todoroki gingerly lean forward and place the cloth gently on my wound, but that isn't going to help at all.
"Add more pressure." I say as clearly as I physically can.
"I-I don't want to hurt you more."
"Pressure is needed to stop the bleeding. I can take it." I hear him sigh before putting a lot of pressure over the hole. Hissing in pain causes him to almost pull away, but I grab his hand with my right hand. "Just... Hold it there."
I shift slightly and I can feel the edge of one of my bandages digging into the wound. I use my able hand to lean over and move the blood soaked bandages slightly. That slight bit of skin being exposed to the cool air would normally bother me, but right now I have bigger problems.
Todoroki suddenly stops adding pressure to the wound and I hear his breath catch in his throat. His fingers gently trace up my arm to the exposed spot on my shoulder, before moving the bandage further down.
I don't stop him. He's already seen what I was trying to hide, him seeing more of it isn't going to stop the questions I'm going to face as he looks at the pink lines littered across my body.
(Image from 6 // Half And Half. This is what Hara's skin looks like under the bandages just in case you forgot.)
"Your skin." He mutters very quietly.
"Todoroki..." It's all I can manage the pain is too much.
"What happened to you?" I can feel myself slipping in and out of reality the world is spinning all around me, it feels like everything is about to crumble.
I feel his warm touch against my face as he gingerly places his hand on my cheek.
"Hara? Hara, what happened to you?"
"I don't think now is the right time." I let out a slight laugh to try and lighten the mood. I look up and I meet his eyes. Somehow in the chaos of everything, his eyes are so clear. They're so beautiful, honestly I wouldn't even be mad if they were they last thing I'd ever see.
"You have to tell me what happened when we get out of this." Concern and worry lace his voice. He clearly doesn't know what to do. "God I don't know what I'd do without you."
"What..?" Even in this state, his words seem to effect me.
"You stood up to my dad, you stood by me, y-you put up with me even when I was cold towards you. You can't leave me." He tilts his head forward so his hair falls in front of his eyes I can't see his face, not that I could anyway. Suddenly I feel something wet on my face.
Is he... crying?
Is Shoto Todoroki crying over some silly little street girl that he met a matter of months ago?
"Todoroki," I can feel myself fading out of consciousness again, but it feels a heavier then before. He doesn't look at me, but I'm determined to make him look at me for some reason.
"Shoto." He instantly looks up, and I can just about make out his wide eyes.
"I'll be fine. I promise." I managed to whisper out before my world crumbled to pieces and my surroundings finally faded to black.
