I spent the rest of the day trying to find acorns and sitting under trees to test whether them falling was a coincidence or if I'm actually having an effect on them. I don't actually know how long I was staring at trees for, but by the end of it my head was hurting more then it's ever hurt from my quirk before. Walking in a straight line was hard because the pounding in my head was almost too much to handle. It's like a heartbeat in my head that move in a wave from that centre of my brain to my skull.

By the time Mendalay called us all back to camp, I was dizzy and swirving around like a drunk driver. The second I get back, I'm almost instantly attacked by Mina, who is complaining about aching all over, though she quickly realises that I need some strong painkillers.

We venture to the nurses office with Tiger, who seems awfully outplace in the group but he's honestly my favourite. After a very heavy dose of paracetamol, we make it back to the group, who are already cooking the food we're expected to eat that evening.

Everybody seems busy with their own role and Mina splits away from me to go harass Yaoyorozu whilst I awkwardly walk around, trying to fit myself in somewhere. I find myself stood behind Bakugou as he chops onion, and to my surprise, he's weirdly good at it.

"Damn dude, when did you learn to cook?" I say as I lean over him, genuinely impressed by his cooking skills.

"Why the hell do you want to know?" Why does he always have to be so defensive over everything?

"Christ, I was just asking. You're actually good at it." For some reason Bakugou seems to think the only appropriate response to that was squinting at me until I walked away again. I awkwardly backed away from the angry blond until I walked straight into someone.

Panic quickly swept over me since for someone who is meant to be lucky, I'm pretty unfortunate.

"Oh, hey Kiriko." Nevermind it's just Mina. I turn around and look at her, then I notice that Todoroki is kneeling next to her whilst he starts a fire to cook the food.

Mina clearly notices that I've been stumped and tries to start up a somewhat normal conversation, but then gets distracted herself.

"What's in your pocket?" She looks completely baffled as she states at my pant pocket.

"It's an acorn." At this point Todoroki has looked up at us, looking as equally as confused as Mina.

"Why do you have an acorn in your pocket?"

"It's a trophy." Once again I'm met with lost gazes so I'm forced to explain further. "I got my quirk to work better." I say, pulling a puzzled face at myself after I realise that that does not make anything make more sense. "Anyway," I start again, trying to somehow save myself, how was you guys' training?"

"Painful." Mina lets out a long string of complaints.

"Hard." Todoroki states bluntly before turning around again and lighting the fire. Must have been a rough day for him and I get the feeling that he doesn't want to be bothered, but I find myself staring at him as flames emit from his left hand.

"You're staring." He sounds blunt and cold, like when I first met him. Don't tell me I'm back at square one again. I don't exactly know how to go about responding to him since I'm caught off guard.

"Yeah I know," I rub the back of my neck and brush my thumb over the bandages, "I just really like fire quirks." I dry laugh, mainly out of awkwardness, but partly because like his quirk, Todoroki is so hot and cold towards me, it's like he can't make up his mind. One minute we're fine and the next he's acting how he was when we first met, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what.
