Mockingbird got up and look him in the eye. "Never in a thousand years will I EVER submit myself or ANYONE again." One eye was coated in pitch black void as black tar crawled up her arms. "It wasn't what you did do but rather what you failed to." Her smoky black wings spread out to full length. Even with tattered wings they spoke of more power.

He walked with his back facing her, the two monsters charged at her when something appeared. instead of ice it was the same smoky black that came off her wings. Their eyes were red and slightly modified design. Tails with a sharp dagger at the end, their legs were thinner, broader shoulders, gigantic front paws, longer backs and sharper teeth. Growls escaped from their mouths and left their fangs exposed. Mockingbird's wings folded but stayed on her back. A pulse came from her foot and lifted debris into the air making it impossible for him to see. A flash of blue cam towards him. Scraping by with a partial barrier he deflected the attack.

"Better try a little harder than that if you wish to beat me." His mask was covered in a light frost.

"Check your pal that was targeting my team, check in with the others ready to also take down those people in the department and your bombs across the city. There gone, by the way if you've gotten slow in your old age." She hissed as her eyes appeared in front of him, a blackened scythe's blade touched the side of his neck. "There's going to be some people to handle you in ten so unless you show me some special trick up your sleeve all you are doing is wasting my time."

"You still finish your battles so quickly, seems you still have the same old habits. Just gained new skills to seem like you've improved..."

Slowly she found that the air was getting thinner, making it hard to breath, it felt like she was choking on her own tongue. Gasping at a breath of air all she saw was the malevolent smile of victory.

"We can't just sit around and do nothing!" Crome's breathing got sharper.

Their bags were packed and all 3 were on the roof and they saw ice sticking out of the tops of buildings disappear.

"We need to...stay together, the three of us are still a team" whispered Scarlet. "She already made her choice. She chose to work alone without us."

"She chose to save us. If we were down there fighting we'd have our heads on a platter, another thing for her to worry about. Mockingbird chose an actual code name and announced to the world that we are a team." Crome contradicted.

"AND WHAT DID SHE SAY ON THE TV? Why do you think that she said to be called Black Sheep? Why do you think she was afraid of Zack? Why do you think she warned the people about the Blood King? SHE KNEW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN! She knew there was no coming back." Tears fell on the ground and her face had grown blotchy.

"How did he survive then? Wasn't everyone dead that she knew? It doesn't add up."

"Forget about her Crome! it'll be better for all of us to stay focused. Now that there's this guy running around with his own little pack we need to grow up and improve."

"I know, our enemies won't wait for us to be strong." Looking over his shoulder he saw the helicopter. "Our ride will be here in a bit."
---------------------------

A weight fell on her chest and out of her back. Clawing at the ice that penetrated between breaths. Feeling the energy that poured into her veins dwindle and her wings disintegrate along with the blackness inside of her. The palms of her hand were slowly covered with red paint that had seeped into the ice. It suddenly jerked out of her leaving a hole inside. Flopping on the ground as a pool of blood quickly formed around her. Short breaths still made the pain in her head throb, her body felt numb as adrenaline took its effect. Taking a sharp inhale she let it out in parts but that's all one could hear. closing her eyes willingly she could see the tiny speck of light as it grew closer to her. Engulfing herself in it she inhaled once more but slower with more control.

The ice beasts disappeared and the frost on the Blood King's mask had melted away. "Don't boast about something you can't back up my lamb." Running his fingers through her short hair he spoke even softer. "I'm sorry but, if I had let you live without any rhyme or reason what would my men think? I am sorry for not being there when you needed someone."

"You're..."she took a sharp breath. "Gonna have to try harder than that to kill me." Lifting herself off the ground with her hands she stood up.

Blood was on her costume as skin poked out in he middle of her chest. "Like I said, pain made me strong. I learned how to survive." She hissed out another respo

"How are you still ali-"His eyes saw no wound on her skin just the remaining blood sticking to her skin.

"That's just it Nick, I'm not the same person. That person you knew is gone, only its shadow remains." There wasn't any emotion on her face, just the piercing blue eyes peering into his soul.
