                            ~Santi's POV~

"You sure you're up for this?" Matias asks me, handing me a gun out of the waistband of his jeans. Usually, we don't do things with any MC's, but I guess we need them now with how many men we've lost recently. It's been a week since my dad died, and three since my mom. I can't get the images of their dead bodies out of my mind, and horribly, that's what's fueling me right now.
Maybe I shouldn't have pushed Ida away when she came to my home the other night. I could see the hurt in her eyes when I was saying those things. I regret them even though they were true. Going around and around chasing her isn't fair to me and I'm not gonna keep doing it if she's just going to be ashamed of me when something happens. I know I'm no good, but I like to believe that I can one day have the love my parents had for each other.
"Yeah? Why wouldn't I be?" I ask, trying to cover up my hesitation as I grab the gun from him. The feeling of the smooth mental at my fingertips gives me a feeling nothing else in this world can. Holding so much power makes me feel in control, especially now, when nothing is. "Let's go."
"Wait, I didn't explain to you his living situation," he says, stopping me from walking to the house. We've been standing here across the street from the small house for thirty minutes already. "He lives here with his wife and two kids."
"And we're supposed to kill him here?" I ask in disgust. What if his children are home and they see two big men walk in to come to kill their dad? It'll scare them for life and I won't be able to sleep at night. "What's the plan?"
"If the kids are in there, I'll take them outside and try to distract them. You do the dirty work," he tells me.
"I'm not the one with the killer nickname...Red." He rolls his eyes and starts walking across the street as soon as we get to the porch I can hear the distance laughing of children. Oh fuck.
"You ready?" He whispers. I nod. He opens the door and slowly making his way in with me behind. The two kids look up from their toys in the living room when they see us. This is reminding me all too much of my own home growing up with how it looks and Amor and I used to sit next to the main window and play, even though she was years older than me.
I slowly walk over, trying not to scare them more than they already look. Are they used to this type of thing? "Where's your dad?" I ask as quietly as I can. They look at each other, clearly terrified at what's happening. They must know we aren't here for some chitchat.
Matias taps my back as he gestures to the kitchen. I straighten up and follow him. My heart is pounding in my chest. This was all fine with me until I realized his personal life. This could have been my dad at one point with our family. He did bad things, so did Zurine, and he never fully left that life behind. I remember my mom and him once getting in a small argument once's about safety because of his past and he knew the chances he was taking. He had been involved with bad people, people that could have killed him if they wanted to and done what Matias and I are doing now. I don't like this at all.
"I'm tired," a short woman says. The man, who I'm guessing we're here for, has his arms wrapped around her as she cleans the dishes, pressing kisses to her shoulders. This scene is all too familiar to me. I purposefully make a loud Boyce to grab their attention. Both spin around in shock, not able to hide the fear on their faces.
"You Carlos Rodriguez?" I ask. He nods, looking back at who must be his wife. They make an attractive couple. She has big tears running down her face as she clenches onto the back of his shirt.
"I know why you're here," he says. "But please have an ounce of decency and do what you have to do somewhere else. I'll go with you freely, just don't do it here where they are," he says. His voice manages to stay steady despite his worried expression. Matias looks other at me while I shrug.
"Do you have a side gate?" He nods. "Let's go."
"Can I say goodbye?" He asks with hope. Matias scoffs, rolling his eyes.
"We have to be in the room," I tell him. He nods, letting out a deep breath. Matias is far more cut out for this life than I am. This hits too close to home. I know that if this would have happened to my dad, I would have wished for a last goodbye if possible.
We go back to the living room where they were before. He talks to his two children like nothing is wrong, just that he's going somewhere and to be good for their mom. They have no idea. It's crazy how someone can be different on the streets, but when it comes to their families they chance at the snap of a finger.
"I love you two," he tells them, kissing their heads. He stands and we go out the front door instead. We lead him to the car and get in. This time Matias is on the driver's side. I take out the gun and look at it. "Where-" I turn around and pull the trigger before he can finish his question. The bullet gets him right between the eyes. His body falls limp against the empty seats next to him.
    "You-"
"It's done," I say, cutting him off.
    A life for a life.

AN: I don't have much to say about this one, nothing really big happened. The deaths of his parents are really taking a toll on him. I really hope you guys enjoyed!
Question: What do you think will happen when Ida and Santi see each other?
