Chapter 3

Third POV

[I had just finished posing at Fourth while hanging out with Yotsuba. It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. All we did was watch anime the whole time and cracked jokes. Now it was time to pose as First and audition with Ichika. I got all dressed up and headed to the girls' condo. I was buzzed in and I walked up to their room. The door opens and Miku is the first one I see. She seems to have a suspicious look on her face but I keep calm]

Miku: Good evening, JP. What brings you here?

Third: Ichika and I are going to hangout tonight. Is that so bad?

Miku: No. She's still getting ready. Come on in.

[I walk in and see the other girls. Yotsuba is reading a manga. Itsuki is studying hard. Nino is running around with her head cut off]

Third: Wow. You girls are really hyped.

Nino/Itsuki/Yotsuba: Hey, First!

Third: What are you girls up to?

Itsuki: I'm studying hard so Fifth can come back to tutor us.

Yotusba: I'm reading a manga that Fourth got me.

[I look at Miku who is just standing and staring at me]

Third: I guess you're doing nothing.

Miku: I have a question for you, First.

Third: Go ahead.

Miku: How come Third didn't ask me to hang out?

[I remembered that I didn't but I have to keep calm and answer calmly]

Third: He must have had a lot on his mine. I'll ask him when he wants to hang out.

Miku: How about Friday night?

[That was oddly specific. Is she onto us? I hope not. Got to keep calm]

Third: Well you see...

[Nino suddenly grabs my hand and pulls me away before I could answer Miku's question. Nino brings me to her room and slams the door. She looks like she's having a heart attack]

Third: Can I help you?

Nino: I need your advice on Second.

Third: What advice?

Nino: What's his favorite color? Does he prefer girls with pierced ears? Does he go in on the first date?

Third: I can't help you, Nino. I'm always by myself and so is he. I don't keep track of him.

Nino: Look, I'm going to confess something to you. You can't tell any of your brothers and especially Second and my sisters.

Third: Go ahead.

Nino: I'm madly in love with Second.

Third: Why?

Nino: He's a tough guy. I find that attractive. I want this date to go well so bad.

[I honestly want to make my brother look bad but I have to fight the urges or this will mess everything up]

Nino: Have you ever been in love?

[Have to act like First]

Third: I'm in love with acting.

Nino: That's not the same. (Sigh) You're hopeless.

Third: Can I leave? Ichika is probably looking for me.

Nino: Go ahead.

[I leave and see Ichika waiting downstairs for me]

Ichika: Hey, First. You ready?

Third: Yeah.

[I begin to leave with Ichika when I see Miku staring at me]

Miku: Have a good night, Fourth.

[She's really suspicious. I'm not falling for it]

Third: I'm First.

Miku: Sorry. My bad. You all just look alike.

Third: Indeed.

[Ichika and leave the building and head towards the place for the audition]

Ichika: You nervous?

Third: A little bit. I just really want to nail this role.

Ichika: Why?

Third: I want to nail it for you. You really want this role. I want to get it for you.

[Ichika just stares at. Her eyes slightly tear up but she quickly puts on a forced smile]

Ichika: That's very sweet of you but it's just a role. There is always more.

[We make it to the place. We grab our numbers. We're near the end so we have some time. Ichika leaves to use the restroom. Something falls out of her pocket. It's a note. I'm tempted to read it. I do my best not to but I do it anyway. I open the note and read]

Ichika: "I really want to land this role. Now that I have a partner my chances go up. If I got this role it would be huge for me. JP is such a great guy and we really gel well. When I'm with him, I feel safe. I feel confident knowing that we will do well when I look at him. The first time we met was magical. I really want this role. I will be heartbroken if I don't get it. I want to get it because JP is doing it with me. I loved the moment that we met and I want to continue it. It was magic. I don't want not to get the roll because there is a possibility of him leaving if we fail. If there is a God, please help me."

[The note ends and I'm almost in tears. I see Ichika walking my way. I quickly close the note and pretend that I didn't read it]

Ichika: Hey. I'm back!

[I hand her the note]

Third: You dropped this. I didn't read it I promise.

Ichika: Thank you. It's just something to motivate me.

[The pressure just went up 1000%. I have to nail this role. I'm not the best actor but I am good enough to get by. I have to nail this role for Ichika. Then he and First can become an item. There you go. I'm doing him a favor. He'll owe me. I kept trying to keep these thoughts going but there was a feeling inside that bothered me and didn't go away. I was jealous of First. I always wanted someone to like me the way that she likes First. After reading that note, I really want it to be me. It hurts so much but I have to be strong]

Ichika: We're up.

[The two of us head towards the directors. We tell them what roles we are auditioning for and they tell us to begin. The scene was so relatable to me. Ichika was playing a girl that my character loves and he's trying to convince her that he's a better fit then someone else. I don't know remember how we did. All I remember is the round of applause that we got when we finished. I was in tears. This wasn't acting. They were real. I quickly wiped them away and pretended to play it off. Ichika has a huge smile on her face and she hugs me]

Ichika: You were amazing! I'm sure we did well.

Third: Thanks.

[The directors told us that was the best performance that they saw all day. They would contact us on a later date. Ichika and I walk back to her place. She holds my hand as we're walking. This makes me jealous of First more]

Ichika: I had a great time tonight. This was a great first date.

Third: Date?

Ichika: Yeah! What else would you call it?

Third: I guess you're right.

[Ichika kisses my cheek. I blush madly]

Ichika: Have a good night, JP.

[She walks away. I start walking towards my place. I have to stop and cry. It's not fair. I just went on an awesome date with an amazing girl and I'm not really me. Well, congrats, First, because you got yourself a girlfriend. And it's all thanks to me]
