Chapter 32

Third POV

[The day continues. Then it's time to eat. I've been looking forward to this. I'm just really hungry. I know Miku's class was in charge of the food so this will be interesting. Miku doesn't cook well but her determination is something that I admire. I sit down with my brothers]

Third: So did you two figure out the best way to build a campfire?

Fifth: We have a design all set but we need to know where to get the wood and to cut it up the correct way.

Fourth: I didn't know that there was so much that went into building a campfire!

First: You think that'd be the easy part.

Fifth: Have you decided on a song?

Third: We decided to ask the student body. Opened up a vote.

First: We'll see how it goes.

[The Nakanos sisters sit a little ways from us. Nino walks over and grabs my arm and pulls me away]

Third: I'll talk to you guys later. I'm being abducted.

First: Good luck!

[I sit down at the table with the Nakano sisters. Nino has an extra bright smile on her face. I then noticed Miku wasn't with them]

Third: Where is Miku?

Nino: Miku wasn't allowed to cook so she was put in charge of clean up.

Third: That's rough.

Yotsuba: I thought if you made it that you didn't have to clean.

Third: It's different everywhere.

Itsuki: Anyway, what have you've been doing, Third?

Third: I've been preparing things for the dance.

Ichika: Are you going to tell us any details?

Third: Nope. It is all strictly confidential.

Itsuki: That makes sense.

[A girl walks over to our table]

Girl: Excuse me, Third?

Third: Yes?

Girl: Miku made a special dish for you and she wants you to try it.

Third: Okay. Where is she?

Girl: In the kitchen. I'll take you there.

[I stand up and get set to leave]

Nino: Good luck. You'll need it.

[I look at the sisters and they all nod in agreement. I just smile and walk away. The girl takes me to the kitchen]

Girl: She's in here.

[The girl walks away. I walk inside but I didn't see Miku]

Third: Anyone in here?

[I hear some noise and see that it's Miku standing on top of a ladder]

Miku: Huh?

[Miku starts to lose her footing and begins to fall. I had another flashback]

[Flashback]

[I'm walking around looking for the girl. I've walked everywhere but I finally found her]

Third: Anyone in here?

[I see the girl standing on top of a ladder and begins to lose her footing and begins to fall. My body moved on its own. Before she hit the ground I caught her and wrapped her in my arms. I hear her crying and I pat her head]
