Terrin's POV
I sat down at the long table in the center of the room, my wrists were still sore from the ropes. Hypatia sat at the head of the table, and Varian sat next to her on her left. Hypatia took a deep breath and turned to me.
"Things have fallen into a chaos," Hypatia's hands were clasped, white knuckled in her lap, "The opinions on alchemy and magic has reached to a boiling point, the duke who exiled both of us has become a puppet for my sister, and Helen...."
"Has become a tyrant," finished the woman standing behind me.
"You don't know that!" Hypatia jumped up, her fists slamming on the table.
"No, Helen has been manipulating you from the start. She wanted the throne for herself so she-"
"NO NO SHUT UP!!! My sister and I promised eachother that we would rule together some day! I know that she would never......she wouldn't..." Hypatia faltered, "There has to be some misunderstanding!"
The woman did not say anything but turned her gaze to stare blankly ahead as if she had said nothing at all. I watched the heated color in Hypatia's face slowly drain away and she sat back in her seat.
"I'm sorry," she straightened her cloths, "I suppose I'm a little high stung as of now..."
"It is alright your Highness, you were not properly informed about the events going on here during your exile." The woman moved to stand next to Hypatia.
"Now, I don't suppose you've properly introduced yourself," Hypatia stood up from her seat and let the woman into her place. The woman nodded to her and sat.
"My name is Leanna. Right now, you all are on the out skirts of the Norther Isles under my care." The woman was tall bearing the same characteristics of those born in the northern isles. He skin seemed to glitter with ice crystals and once I locked eyes with her, I couldn't look away. Varian's voice cut through the tension.
"Terrin, Hypatia, from what Leanna has showed us, I think we should take a couple moments to regroup and think about our next steps. We don't have to do anything as of right now." Hypatia sighed and walked out of the room. The Leanna turned away dismissing us with the slam of the door.
Varian slumped in his chair and rubbed his temples.
"Whatcha thinking, kid?" I pulled back a seat, "got some superior insight I should be let in on?"
"I-I was thinking of my father," Varian slouched farther, "I don't know what I was doing running away. Wait! DON'T GET THE WRONG IDEA! I really appreciate what you and Hypatia have done for me, it's just I miss my home too." I nodded.
"Out of just about anyone, I know the feeling of missing your home," I said. Varian looked up at me and I ruffed his hair.
"You know I've been dying to ask you something this entire trip," I smirked," What's up with your hair?"
"What? My hair?" Varian reached up to straiten his hair.
"Yeah, you've got a blue streak in it. Don't tell me you've never looked in a mirror before!" I laughed.
"I was just born with it!" Varian protested grinning ear to ear and batted my hand away which tried to ruffle his hair again.
Suddenly I didn't feel like such an outside in my own kingdom. I fell quiet. I was lost in my memories when Varian shook me back to reality.
"I just saw someone in a cloak sneaking around the building! Let go!" Varian was already half way out the door.
"Hypatia! Leanna! I just saw someone sneaking around the building!" Varian shouted into the hallways. Several people stuck their heads out of their door ways, but from Leanna and Hypatia there was no reply.

Author's note: sorry for the long absence. 😓 I kinda forgot I was writing this but with the release of the third season of Tangled Adventures I'm back with more inspiration for our precious alchemy boy!
