Reactions and A New Quest

Thalia's POV
Perci has been acting so different. Like the girl we've known is not here now but someone replaced her who is more smart and confident with an attitude as well.

I came before the capture the flag. I saw her exiting the big house with a bad mood .

Annabeth told me, Perci had gone to see her father. I wasn't surprised, she and her father had a relationship better than any Gods had with their children. She told me how she sometimes went to visit him and sleep in his palace and also how he came to see her in the cabin and spent time with her. But now was different as she was not in a good mood.

Today was different. Her reaction to everything was different. She was hiding something and I saw a glimpse of an expression I've never seen on her. A girl who does not give shits, and did not appreciate people toying. A no nonsense expression.

That expression is only there when we were in the war. Seeing her have that only momentarily was shocking. She was just so calm and contained but angry as hell; she never is like this. This mad, ready to explode. Which is why she was 'unpredictable as the sea '.

Was Perci hiding something? I wanted to know. Seeing her today, I was doubting if she really was always a kelp head we've known or she was just pretending to be.

Her expression lasted only for second before it went to nonchalance. No one has that much control over their expression, especially Perci. I want to know what is going on.

We all followed her to the big house, but Chiron stopped us saying no one was allowed inside. When Annabeth tried using her cap, she couldn't get through as if there was a barrier. Something is going on and I wanna know what it is.

So we waited for her to come out.

Annabeth's POV
Ok its official, I was pissed at what was happening. I wanted answers.
First a lady comes to camp probably with a quest or a message from Poseidon as Perci tells us.

Then Perci is acting all strange. Since that woman went, Perci was acting very snappy and this was not Perci. She did not snap at people. She always apologized first but yesterday she snapped at Leo. She never snaps unless she is pissed that too at the monsters .

Then she goes to see Poseidon and comes back in the morning like nothing happened. After I came back from the beach. I told everyone what happened. Everyone was worried seeing her lose her cool.

We decided to confront her in the morning about it.

Grover's POV
I knew someday her mask would fall off. Today was one day when that happened. When I was at Yancy Academy with her, she was a girl with attitude, a smart aleck. I used to ask her why she acted dumb in front of others and she used to say, it gave her an advantage as people always underestimate her then.

I always saw how gracefully she held her mask of being unknown to everything. Today only momentarily it came down just as fast was up too. But people saw, Annabeth and Thalia saw it. I know they did. They had shocked expression thinking how calm she looked just as her mask slipped. But she brought it back on. I don't know what is happening but I know for sure people will notice the change in her if she stuck around.

I wanted to say ' I told you so '. But I won't say it.

Nico's POV
Perci was acting weird. Everyone was talking about her strange behaviour. No one has seen her like this before. Snappy, or controlled when confronted. It was like she was already used to such behaviour, like it was in her nature .

Never have I felt so distant from her. It's like she is not here at all.

Was Perci hiding something ? I wanted to know. I was her cousin for God's sake. She could trust me but looking at her I knew none of us were gonna get our answers. No matter how much we hounded her.

Pierce's POV
It was fun seeing Annie trying to come in but I already placed a spell temporarily on the big house so no one could see or hear what we were talking about. 😄

As soon I came out of the big house,I was jumped by the seven and Thalia.
"Will you answer our questions now?"I ignored the attitude of Annabeth and nodded at them to ask the questions .

"What is going on, Perci? Who was that lady and why did you go to see Lord Poseidon and what did you talk to Chiron about?." Annabeth asked.

"Woah girl , one question at a time ok, or I will forget the million questions you just asked. It was nothing actually. It was me making a big deal out of nothing. There was message from the undersea council about meeting me and included immortality and being a royal. That is why I went to ask him what it was about. So I went to talk to him and sorted the problem there.
I was informing Chiron of the same.
Also I'm going home to see mom after dinner and be with her. She is pregnant so I wanna be there for my little sis ."
I made that up as it went but not some parts like about seeing my dad or about mom. In the mess hall, my mask slipped for a second but judging by their reaction they saw it. So I have to cover it up. I cannot let anyone know the OTHER SIDE OF ME.

I know they were having their doubts about me but they had no choice but to accept it as neither Chiron nor my father nor mom will confirm or deny anything. So I was cool. So after this I went to cabin to pack and leave coz I know I was not going to return for a very long time. It made me sad. But I have to go on this NEW QUEST now. Hopefully everything goes well.
