Surprise Introduction

Dumbledore's POV
A new year is starting. Cornelius has been testing my patience so far. He appointed Dolores Umbridge to spy on me and also a new Defence against the Dark Arts teacher. He didn't even tell me the name of the teacher and said I would find out today at dinner.

Already there is a mystery to solve and then there is Voldemort to worry about. Alexis King was able to gather information rather quickly than I anticipated but then I hardly know anything about her than her being a genius and a very powerful witch. There is an aura around her I can feel it, she is something I can't figure out. And I hate not knowing anything about her. Ever since she has been in London, she has gotten close to Severus and the only person who has been this close was Lily, Harry's mother, and also Sirius and Remus have taken a liking to her.

The way Severus defended her strength proved he knew her better than what he and she showed everyone. I also talked to him about it, but got nothing.

"Severus , you must have known why I called you here."

"Yes, headmaster. I do. Please ask the questions and I will answer them to the best of my ability".

"What do you know about Miss King Care to share with me. I was surprised you defended her. How do you know her so well."

"I have been to Ilvermony before. Just couple years ago, I had made another trip to New York City and therein I met the mysterious Alexis King. She wasn't like most students. She liked to challenge authority. She caused a lot of trouble but she had heart in the right place. The school always had practice dueling lessons for senior students. She had been the last surprise entry. That's how I know, she is very good at her magic."

"What made her any different than other students there?"

"She was the only 13 and was able to keep 4 aurors at Bay with her magical abilities and also won the duel. She was the only one who won at the practice dueling lessons."

"What did the faculty think of her, the ministry there ?"

"They thought of her as extremely hard working and also protective of people around her. She has a full record of causing troubles and playing pranks on head boys and girls. But she has also been known to be the first to help in any situation regardless of the threat. She graduated early as well because her ability to learn faster. Rumours have been about her been part of the scout to take down any left followers of Grindelwald. And there were and also very powerful ones."

"She is that good?."

"Yes she is. What I said at the meeting is true. She can take on Voldemort in dueling with her eyes closed and a hand behind her back. Anything else."

"You seem to know her on a personal level. How?"

"Like I said, I spent time there. And also with her."

"You seem open with her like you were with Lily."

"She has an ability to bring out the best or worst in people depending on good or bad people."

"Hm. That's all. Thank you Severus."

Flashback over.

Severus was not giving everything. He was guarded while talking about her. He closed his mind and thoughts were clouded so there wasn't anyway to know if it was the truth. This is frustrating.
