Chapter 16

I felt somebody shaking my body and opened my eyes to see Hyunjin smiling. "Wakey wakey, princess. We're about to land."

I looked out the window and saw the island below us. The bright green landscape made me smile as I thought about how nice it was going to feel to be in the sun there. I turned to Hyunjin with a big smile, "I'm so excited! I know that we're here for a specific reason, but I can't wait to have fun!"

He chuckled at my excited state, as he grabbed my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. Just the simple action of holding my hand sent butterflies through my body. I don't know what happened, but ever since this morning when he told me how he stayed with me because he knew I wouldn't be okay by myself, my heart flutters when we are close. It wasn't as noticeable before because there's been something else going on or other people present. But now, it's just us. Mina, Jisung, Nuri, and Jaemin we're elsewhere on the plane.

I looked at our hands for a moment before I felt a blush creeping onto my face. I turned away so he wouldn't see.

Not even five minutes later, our plane had landed and we were getting off and walking into the airport. Once everyone was together, we got our luggage and a taxi to take us to the hotel. I noticed Minho and Woojin following behind us a good distance. But they were discreet enough to not seem suspicious.

We finally arrived at the hotel and after I checked us in, the boys took our luggage up to the rooms, one for the boys and one for the girls, and we decided to freshen up and meet up in 30 minutes to get some lunch.

As Mina, Nuri, and I said bye to the boys and they left our room, we turned to each other and giggled while squealing and jumping in a circle. Well, Nuri did. Mina and I were just laughing with her as she held our hands.

"Oh my gosh, Rae! He's so cute! And so nice! Are you sure he's Chan's friend?" Nuri was apparently pleased with my "bae" that I brought with me.

"Yeah, he seems too normal to be friends with Chan. But he seems to be really good friends with Jisung," Mina's face turned pink at the mention of his name. She turned to her suitcase and took out a beautiful white sundress with little daisies on it.

"Ooh someone's trying to make a good impression!" Nuri teased Mina as she also took out a sundress, but hers was a baby pink with baby's breath flowers adorning it.

"Oh you're one to talk Na Nuri!" I teased Nuri as her face went red. Mina and I were bending over with laughter.

"Stop! Please don't tease me in front of him! I just got to the point where I can talk without stuttering, and you two being like this won't help." She took off her current clothes and slipped on her dress as she pouted.

"Oh you know we love you Nuri! We promise to only tease you like this in the comfort of our girls only room. What happens in room 243 stays in room 243!" Mina giggled as she wrapped Nuri in a hug and eventually they were both a giggling mess.

"Who are you and what have you done with my friend Mina? I like this lovesick-puppy side! You're so much more fun!" I teased Mina as I pulled out my yellow off shoulder top and a pair of white shorts.

"Aww, Rae! Mina and I are wearing dresses! You should too. Especially for Hyunjin," she giggled as she drew out his name and leaned into me.

I heard Mina gasp as she smiled at me. "Yes! Please Rae! And then we can all take pictures! And look good for our dates!"

I rolled my eyes at both of them. "Oh and I suppose you'll make me wear makeup and do my hair too." I shook my head as I pulled out a dress to satisfy my friends.

I looked up and saw them grinning at me. It was freaky. They both looked like the Joker from Batman. I just closed my eyes, groaned, and mentally slapped myself for suggesting the idea.

"Fine." I changed into my lavender dress as I sat in the bathroom letting them work on my face and hair.

After what felt like forever, we heard a knock on our room door just as Mina finished with my makeup.

"Perfect timing! The boys are here! Come on girls!" Nuri skipped out of the bathroom and Mina and I followed.

"Just a sec!" I called out to the boys as we all put on our sandals.

Nuri opened the door and we all walked out, making sure that we had the key to get back in. I smiled as I saw Nuri blushing with Jaemin and Jisung trying to flirt with Mina. Then I turned and was faced with a very handsome Hyunjin.

He was just looking at me with a smile. "I don't think I've ever said this, but Bang Mirae, you are without a doubt the most beautiful girl I have ever seen."

My eyes went wide, and if I had been drinking anything I would have choked. I could feel my cheeks being covered in a blush as he just smiled and chuckled at my frazzled state.

"T-thank you, Hyunjin. Um, guys lets go eat, yeah?" I couldn't look him in the eyes because I was still flustered from his statement. As I turned to leave, I felt him slip his hand into mine as he also intertwined our fingers. I smiled but looked down to avoid anyone seeing me blush.

We all reached the front of the hotel and decided to walk to a pizza place that we saw on the ride from the airport. During our walk there, Hyunjin and I were in the back and I giggled as I saw Jisung and Mina's hands brushing each other. I wish he would just hold her hand and get the awkwardness over.

Before anything else could happen, we reached the pizza parlor and went in to a booth for six, it was right at the window so I took the window seat and watched the ocean and people on the sidewalk. The girls on one side and the boys across from us. We just decided to get a large cheese and a large pepperoni. While waiting on the pizza, the boys struck up a conversation amongst themselves and Mina and Nuri were talking about something.

I smiled at my friends enjoying themselves then turned to look out the window. I noticed a hooded figure looking back at me. I had to do a double-take to make sure I was seeing correctly.There was definitely someone watching us from outside. I stared at the figure and zoned everything else out. I was watching him and he was watching me. I was brought back into reality when the cheese pizza was set down with a loud clank in front of me.

"You alright there, princess?" Hyunjin looked concerned as he cut the cheese pizza.

"Umm, yeah I just thought I saw," I looked out the window and Hyunjin followed my gaze. The hooded figure was gone. "Nothing. Nevermind, I obviously imagined it." I looked down then looked up at Hyunjin as he placed a slice of pizza on my plate with a questioning look.

"We can talk later, okay?" I nodded in response to his question. "But for now, can we just enjoy this time with friends?" He smiled at me as he gestured to my two friends chatting with their love interests.

I just giggled and nodded another yes as I brought the delicious smelling pizza to my mouth.

But I know what I saw. There was definitely someone there.
