Chapter 38

We finally got downstairs and were met with awkward glances from all of the boys. I blew out a big breath and knew I needed to say something.

"Chan? I'm sorry for how I was acting earlier. I meant what I was saying, but I could've done it in a more appropriate fashion. No use in lying, my hormones are just being weird lately-"

"Hormones? Oh my god are you pregnant?" Felix's deep voice cut me off and everyone's eyes went wide.

"Pregnant?!" Chan had smoke coming out of his ears as he made his way over to Hyunjin.

"Felix, what the fuck no!" I stepped in front of Hyunjin to protect the terrified boy from my brother. "I'm on my fucking period and not to mention, there has been a lot more testosterone around me lately, so yeah my hormones are going to be a little whack."

I pushed Chan's chest away as he stopped in front of me and glared over my head at Hyunjin. "Channy, I still have my V card. Don't worry." I whispered this to Chan and it seemed to calm him down a bit.

After Chan was calm again, I walked over and slapped the back of Felix's head. "You should learn to let a girl finish saying what she has to say and not interrupt her. It could get you somewhere later in life."

The boys all chuckled as Felix rubbed his head and pouted. "Now, as I was saying. I'm sorry for being rude to you, Chan. And I'm sorry for making you guys uncomfortable with what I said."

"You shouldn't be apologizing," I turned to look at Jungkook as he spoke. "What you said was true. We were going to baby you two because you're girls. And it was wrong. But we obviously learned our lesson from that." He gave me a soft smile as he looked at me.

"Thanks," I returned his smile and went to stand by Hyunjin only to see him glaring at Jungkook. I rolled my eyes and went and wrapped my arms around Hyunjin's waist as I laid my head on his chest. His arms immediately wrapped around my shoulder and he kissed the top of my head, as if to let everyone know I was off limits.

A silent tension settled in the air as Jungkook and Hyunjin glared at each other. I had to do something.

"So about this training," I looked over at Chan and he thankfully got my cue.

"Right, you and Mina will go with Hyunjin, Jungkook, Jisung, and Hoseok to train. You and Mina just need to get changed into appropriate clothing."

"Wow, couldn't have told us before we came down the stairs?" I wriggled out of Hyunjin's arms and ran back upstairs with Mina.

I put on a sports bra that had a lot of criss-crossing in the back, some high waisted leggings, and my tennis-shoes. Mina wore a tank top with some spandex shorts and her tennis-shoes.

"Ready?" She put her hair up into a ponytail and put on some deodorant before spraying herself with body perfume.

"Yep, let's go kick some ass," I also put my hair into a ponytail and put some deodorant on.

We headed back down the stairs and when the guys saw us their eyes went wide. Chan and Hyunjin simultaneously spoke, "no," and "go change."

I rolled my eyes at them and headed to the door. "Meet you guys there? Come on Mina."

We left the house and she walked next to me nervously. "Rae, you seem to be upsetting Chan and bringing out Hyunjin's jealousy. Is everything okay?"

"Everything's fine Mina. I'm just sick of being the helpless little girl who has to sit and watch other people protect me. I want to be able to stand up for myself against NCT, and if it means upsetting Chan and making a Hyunjin jealous, then so be it. I love them both so much, but I have to focus on myself before-"

"Hey Mina, why don't you come walk back here with me?" We both turned to see Jisung and Hyunjin walking behind us. She looked at me and shrugged as she walked to Jisung. Hyunjin made his way next to me then pulled me onto the grass so we could talk.

I sat down on the ground and he followed, sitting across from me.

"Princess, is everything okay? Ever since we got back, you've been acting," he looked like he was trying to come up with the right word. "Different. Not saying it's a bad thing. I mean, you're standing up for yourself and the way you handled Chan today was kinda hot. But Jisung and I overheard what you said to Mina. I totally agree with you needing to be able to hold your own, but don't forget, you have your brother's entire gang and now Bangtan behind you. You know I'd never let anything happen to you, and as much as I hate to admit it, I don't think Jungkook would either. He definitely likes you. But," he stood up and pulled me with him, "I love you. And if you're ever feeling like that again, please talk to me. I want to help you, okay?"

I nodded my head as a stray tear slid down my face. Hyunjin wiped it away and pulled me into his chest for a hug. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you cry, princess."

"Don't flatter yourself, it's these damn period hormones." His chest rumbled as he chuckled.

"Alright, we'd better get to the training house, they're all waiting for us." He kept one arm around my waist as we walked the rest of the way to the house where our friends were waiting for us.

"Thank you, Jinnie. And sorry for making you jealous with Jungkook, although, I promise you, you have nothing to worry about. He's the same age as Chan which basically makes him ancient to me."

Hyunjin let out a beautiful laugh that also made me smile as he pulled me closer and kissed my head. "I love you princess."

"I love you too Jinnie."
