Chapter 48

As the owners of the shadows rounded the corner, the four boys at the front jumped them and took them out quietly, luckily there were only four NCT members so we didn't have to get involved. Once the NCT members were taken care of, Jungkook moved all of their bodies to the side so they were less likely to be noticed and tied them up.

"Alright, that's 4 out of 20," Namjoon's voice spoke into the earpiece. "The cameras don't show anyone else for a while, but I'll keep you updated. Sorry about that, we didn't see them."

"It's alright, we took care of it, Namjoon." Chan whispered into the earpiece loud enough to be heard. He signalled us to keep moving, so we followed the boys in the front again as Namjoon guided us through the earpiece.

We had been walking through NCT's base for about 20 minutes and only came across 4, more guys that were easily taken out. Finally, we arrived at some double doors and heard many voices coming from inside. I immediately recognized Taeyong's voice and my hands turned into fists.

"Alright, cameras are showing the remaining 12 members inside that room. There's only the one entrance, so as long as you stay near it, they won't be able to leave." Jeongin's voice rang through our earpieces. "Good luck you guys."

"There is one person in there for each of us. I am taking out Lucas since this son of a bitch had the nerve to kidnap my sister and threaten her life." Chan started walking towards the doors.

"Taeyong is mine." I looked at everyone and they nodded. The rest said they would take anyone.

We all looked at each other and nodded. Hyunjin spun me around by my waist and planted a passionate kiss on my lips before speaking. "I love you princess, no matter what happens in there, okay?"

"I love you too." I hugged him tight before pulling away and turning back to the doors. I grabbed one door and opened it slightly as Jungkook and Minho threw some smoke grenades into the room.

We heard the people inside coughing and cursing. Jungkook and Minho were holding the doors shut as the coughing people on the other side were trying desperately to get out. After leaving them in there for about 30 seconds, the two boys opened the doors and headed inside as we followed.

NCT didn't notice our presence in the room since they were still coughing, so we easily were able to take out about 6 of their guys, but the smoke was starting to clear. While we were busy with half of their guys, the other half had regained their composure and unbeknownst to us were aiming their guns at us.

The six guys we were fighting were very strong and ended up needing two of us to fight them. Hyunjin and I were fighting some tall guy that kind of looked like Jojo from 'Horton Hears a Who'. He had a knife and I was doing my best to not get sliced by it while we fought. Multiple gunshots suddenly rang out causing me to freeze. The guy I was fighting started to swing his knife at me, but Hyunjin blocked the knife and hit the guy's head with the butt of his gun.

Hyunjin gently shook my body and I was finally able to move again. I looked at his worried face, then turned to where the shots came from.

Taeyong, Lucas, and four guys I hadn't seen before were all holding smoking guns. I panicked and looked around to see who was shot.

Nobody looked hurt, but I noticed that the 6 NCT members we were fighting were all either knocked out or detained. I looked back towards Taeyong and Lucas, glaring at Taeyong.

The two just smirked at me as they walked towards Hyunjin and I, the four others following behind them.

"Well well well. What do we have here?" Lucas walked toward me and circled me and Hyunjin as he chuckled. "My love has come back." He grabbed my chin and forced me to look at him. I winced in pain from the sudden movement and Hyunjin slapped Lucas' hand away. Lucas only chuckled as he and Hyunjin glared at each other.

"What are you doing here, love?" Lucas turned back to me and asked the question, but from the way he said it, I figured he knew the answer.

"We came to kill you. Specifically you and Taeyong. The other's all seem to only function when you two are around. Without you two, they would be lost." I spoke with confidence but the smirk that stayed on Lucas' lips intimidated me.

"How cute," Taeyong finally came to stand beside Lucas. "They think they can take us out."

"No. I know I can. Maybe before you killed two of my best friend's I wouldn't have had the strength or courage to do this, but I am so done running from you guys. I am so done having people taken away from me because of you." I tightened my grip on the gun in my hand and slowly brought it up as I pointed it at Taeyong.

He just laughed at me as my gun stayed pointed at him. My hands were shaking. I closed my eyes and saw Nuri and Woojin, I'm doing this for them. I opened my eyes and pulled the trigger.

Everything happened in slow motion. The bullet struck Taeyong's chest right where his heart was. His shirt was quickly soaked in blood as he fell to the ground. I looked up to see a horrified Lucas. As he went to bring up his gun, another shot rang out and I saw a bullet hole between his eyes. I turned around and saw Chan with his gun raised and aimed at Lucas. He then started to walk towards me.

He stopped in front of the four boys that were with Taeyong and Lucas. "You can tell whoever takes over NCT that Stray Kids is not to be messed with. If you come after us again, we will not hesitate to kill you. All of you."

The boys looked frightened and nodded their heads as they looked down. Chan then turned to me and gave me a nod and small smile before walking towards the door. I faced Hyunjin then grabbed his hand as I followed Chan out of the room and out of the house. The others trailed behind us as we walked in a triumphant silence.

We finally got back to the van and Chan turned around with a big grin. "We did it! I knew we could! I am so proud of you guys."

We all returned the smile and Hyunjin pulled me into his side for a hug before we all headed into the van to head back to Bangtan's house. Once we got back to their house, we all gathered in the living room. I went to sit with Hyunjin on the couch, but he winced when I leaned on his shoulder and switched places with me so I was on his left side instead. Weird. I'll ask him later.

Chan walked to the middle of the group and turned so he got to see everyone. "Well, Stray Kids, Bangtan? We did it!" He had a huge smile on his face as the others cheered and smiled as well. "Now, I know we are super happy to have beaten them, but I think we should lay low for a while. I don't want NCT's allies to find out and then come after us. I mean, they're going to find out anyway, but if they don't know where we are, they can't come after us. So, Namjoon has graciously agreed to let us stay here for as long as we need."

We all looked toward Namjoon and thanked him as he just brushed it off. "Tell you guys what, either you guys cook dinner tonight or order in, and we'll count it as payment."

We all smiled at his statement and I wasted no time in jumping off the couch and towards my brother to get his credit card. After successfully getting his card and him chasing me to get it back, I locked myself in the bathroom and pulled out my phone to order us all some pizza. I placed an order for 3 large pepperoni pizzas, 2 large sausage pizzas, and 2 large cheese pizzas. After placing the order, I walked out of the bathroom with an innocent smile and found Chan waiting for me, not very happy.

"Oh. Hey, Channy! I found this in the bathroom," I held up his credit card and he took it out of my hands as he walked away.

"You know, Sun-Rae, we could've just cooked for them instead of spending however much money 7 large pizzas is. And I'm sure it's not cheap." Chan disappeared into the living room and I followed him. As we entered, I announced that pizza was on the way and everyone cheered.

I took my seat next to Hyunjin and leaned into him as he combed through my hair with his fingers. We all just sat around talking with each other until the pizza came.

I took a moment to look around at all of my new friends. This definitely was not the summer I expected, and while I so desperately wished for two people to be here with us, I couldn't help but smile at the people in the room with me. They had become my second family, my best friends.

My eyes closed as I felt Hyunjin press a kiss to my head. I looked up at him and smiled. His eyes said everything, he loves me.
