Chan had bought plane tickets for us all to go back to Seoul the next day. He said that we needed to get back soon so that Nuri's family could give her a proper burial. They still had no idea, and the thought of telling them terrified me.
Her parents treated Chan and I like their own children after our parents abandoned us. And now we would have to go and tell them that their actual daughter was dead, and while I've finally accepted that it wasn't all my fault, a big part of it was.
We had all just finished dinner and Mina and I decided to go and pack our things for the flight tomorrow while the boys headed to the gym to workout. I was so busy thinking about how we would tell Nuri's parents, that I didn't notice Mina come in and sit on my bed. So when I turned to put a shirt in my suitcase, she startled me.
"Oh my gosh, Mina. warn a girl next time."
She giggled. "Sorry Rae, you just looked really concentrated, I didn't want to interrupt." she took the shirt from my hands and placed it in my open suitcase. "So what were you thinking about?"
"How I'm gonna tell Nuri's parents."
"Oh." Mina looked down and played with her hands. "They won't hate you, you know? They'll be upset, but they won't hate you."
I sat down on the bed next to Mina and leaned my head on her shoulder. "I know, but it's still going to be hard. They're going to cry, and I'm going to cry."
"You've got this. And besides, won't Chan be with you? You won't be alone. Not to mention, I can stay with you as long as you want." She leaned her head on mine. "I don't really want to be alone either."
"Yeah. That sounds like a plan." I lifted my head and gave Mina a warm smile.
She returned the smile and got up, pulling me with her. "Alright missy, now let's get the rest of your stuff packed."
I giggled as Mina skipped over to the rest of my clothes and started folding them for me.
"So, have you confessed to Jisung yet?" I smirked as I saw her face go red and she dropped the shirt she was holding.
"Um, no." She then gave me a shy smile. "Because he did it first."
I gasped and pulled her down next to me as I encouraged her to spill the tea.
"It was so adorable, Rae. He is the sweetest guy I've ever met, and he didn't really do anything special, but it was more of what he said. He just told me how important I've become to him over the last few days. Not to mention, he brought me my favorite coffee and flowers while I was still in bed. He was so nervous about it too! His face was so red and he was stuttering over his words." She was smiling as she remembered Jisung's sweet actions, I've never seen her look so happy.
I was about to say something, but suddenly the window exploded and gunshots rang out. I grabbed Mina and pulled her behind the bed with me. We hugged each other as we crouched to avoid any stray bullet that could hit us.
After a few minutes, the gunshots stopped, but we stayed down just in case.
"Are you okay?" I held Mina's face in my hands as I checked her over.
She nodded her head yes in response, then started crying as I pulled her into my arms for a hug.
I heard voices and feet running up the stairs and the door was thrown open to reveal the boys. Jisung immediately came over and took Mina in his arms to comfort her. Hyunjin and Chan came over to me while the other boys looked around to make sure whoever shot at us was gone.
"Guys." We all turned our attention to Seungmin as he picked up a large rock with a paper tied around it.
"What's it say?" Chan walked over to see the paper.
