Y/N woke up screaming in fear, though she soon realised that the nightmare had already ended.
Her H/C hair gently leaned on her back, while some loose strands stuck to her tear-stained face. The young kunoichi took deep breaths to try and calm her pounding heart, not noticing the cold wind.

Yes, Y/N slept outside, in a tree, enshrouded by the summer leaves and various branches. Regardless of how much the young girl tried, she just couldn't bear to stay within the walls of that house longer than a few minutes. It brought back such hideous memories... the times when Y/N was left to endure loneliness in absolute solitude each day for years- although in her mind it felt like an eternity.

After a few minutes of trying to regain normal heart rate and breathing, Y/N looked around as if expecting someone to have heared her blood-curling screams.

As time passed and no one came, the H/C haired girl resented to her regular routine which consisted of her packing up the small amount of belongings she had, making sure not to leave any tracks of her existence of being there and leaving while ensuring no one would see her.

When Y/N was far enough from her previous resting place, she quickly hid her only belongings in the same spot as always. Before the sun had arouse, the eager teenage girl was already using deadly techniques on a single tree, as to test the limit of destructive power they could potentially unleash upon her future enemies. She, being as young as 13 years old, had some truly admirable battle skills. Her technique was flawless, yet it created a repeatable pattern which could be used against her if the opponent was smart enough- though not many of whom she had faced were.

Although Y/N had some lethal tricks up her sleeve, jouin rank Leaf ninja would see straight through them with ease. However, for the time being, those tricks had saved the girl's life on countless occasions.

From petty attempts at stealing from her, to rouge ninja (some of whom were situated in the bingo book) attempting at killing her as she may or may not have interfered with their order to assassinate another shinobi- which often resulted in them failing.

Even though high ranked shinobi had
praised the young, yet incredible girl for her successes, she would often shrug them off with a:
"Still, I could have done better".

With Y/N's attitude, not many could stand her as she was classified the 'perfect student' at the ninja academy and yet, she still didn't give herself any credit. No matter how many people tried to convince her otherwise, whatever she did would never be good enough.

Not for her anyways.

It was true that Y/N came into the academy very late, into the last year of it, but this didn't change the outburst of curiosity thrown at her the very first day she entered the academy. Tens of questions were asked during lessons and roughly just over one hundred during lesson brake and lunch.

However, there were two individuals who seemed not to care: Hatake Kakashi, and Uchiha Obito. Although the warm welcome of Y/N into the academy was cut short when some of Kakashi's fangirls threatened her to never lay her eyes on the silvernette again, even though she had no more than glimpsed at him for a split second. At the time, the H/C haired girl was shy and simply nodded, deciding it was better to remain neutral with them.

In the end, who would want an army of head-over-heel obsessed girls on your bad side?

Definitely not Y/N. She had other things to focus on, like her training. Shortly after (almost) everyone had left her be, she started to show the effects of her intense training at the academy. Their jonin teacher had noticed that and decided to keep a close eye at his newest student.

Time flew by and each day the once shy and self-conscious girl had returned stronger than the day before. Her strenght in battle was not power or strategy alone, she was smart enough to combine the two into one. This created her a new identity, as the Fierce Fox. Sly and dangerous.
