(Song performed is Warbingers: Jaina)
It takes Violet three days to recover completely.
She muses that in those three days, Rachel had woken up and the group had gone to see her once or twice.
Now she was writing an essay. Her sighs were repetitive and she was getting frustrated.
She was mostly tired. Karen had stopped to scold her daughter halfway through. Karen had had enough of Violet after the whole fiasco at the hospital. Rex had been released a few hours ago, but Karen refused to let Violet go to see them.
She was still suspended, for two more days. So she hovered around the house, doing odd chores and her work.
Sometimes, Falcon would drop by with a slushie and holding out bubble tea and winking. Once it was Jared offering to chat, and he almost had been found out by Karen who mysteriously returned home early.
Violet was not a stranger to people knocking on her door. Whether she could let them in was a different story.
This time, a pleasant surprise awaited not at her door, but at her phone.
Seeing as it was Rachel, she leapt for it, abandoning her essay and holding it up. It was Rachel!
"Hey, bitch!"
"Yes nice to see you too bitch," Rachel snarked back, though her voice cleared a little. "You like performing?"
"What? That's the sort of shit you ask Falcon for," Violet frowned, sitting back at her chair.
"No, this is for Falcon. Falcon's going whether she likes it or not," Rachel said, then there was a small whisper of something.
"Rachel?"
"Hm? Yeah?"
"What's this about?"
"Well you see, I received a phone call. I thought it was something else, but... it was something I had hoped for from the start."
A pause. More whispering.
"Of course, I would have to wait until I'm better... but..."
"What is it?" Violet interrupted. "Why does it have to do with performing?"
"It's something we want to help her with. Something happened two years ago and she swore off performing and taking the limelight for good. Her old juniors, they want to help her get back into the game. They still look up to her and employed me to uh, sort of pull her in and since we're sort of lacking members, I was hoping you would..."
"I can't dance. And neither can Falcon!"
"Believe it or not Falcon just can't choreograph but her ability to learn fast doesn't stop her from learning moves. Trust me, that is why her old group left the music to her and the dancing to someone else. But I'm imploring... please? You CAN dance."
"Yeah, but not at your level! And plus I'm busy."
"Yeah? With what? Playing good student to mommy?"
Oof. Okay that one hurt Violet a little. She took a glance out the door then back at the phone.
"Are there auditions? How do I do this?"
"Hold up... first we gotta get Falcon in on this. If I just employ the help of Jared and Rex..."
"They're part of it?"
"I've tried to. Rex can dance but can't sing even if his life depended on it. Jared is good but I don't think he's too comfortable being up there with strangers."
