Miguel's rough track of the music reached Rex's attention. He offered to choreograph it for Miguel, but Miguel had refused, going to play his electric guitar.

Falcon had gone off to talk to Jared, who had been released. He had been relatively unharmed, but her face was grave as she tried to find him.

"So, who's the song for?" Rex asked. Miguel looked a little angry, brow furrowing as they walked around the floor.

"My ex-boyfriend."

"Oh! You're gay. I didn't know that. That must suck, man. Was he... like... a dick?" Rex asked awkwardly. "Like, a punchable dick?"

Miguel laughed, the sound foreign in such a sad environment. The click of their shoes on the tiled foor seemed to echo something ominous coming their way.

"Yeah. He cheated on me. Falcon already offered to punch him though, I declined. I already know Falcon's going to verbally chew him out if she sees him, so that's punishment enough."

They paused, as nurses filed past with a cart very squeaky. They let be the only thing that broke the silence.

"Miguel?"

"Fuck."

Miguel pointed. At a tall man with a goatee and a rough looking flannel, worn out. He was intimidating the nurse at the station, long enough for Miguel to spot him.

"That's... the guy, right?" Miguel asked, nudging Rex hard. It was an indication of running. They had to run.

The man turned, narrowed his eyes at the two, and lumbered closer.

"Yes. Yes he is. Run."

His steps were like an elephant, and Rex and Miguel booked it down the hallway, the neverending hallway with the sterile smell and the bright lights in the ceiling and the doors that all looked exactly the same...

Suddenly it was like the whole hospital, the whole floor became a maze. Steps they once walked as familiar places became nothing more than mocking mirrors. The house of hallways. The house of mirrors.

Rex was well-versed in the Greek mythology of Minos. On the island of Crete, King Minos built a huge maze. A labyrinth. Where every turn you made was a Hail Mary. He built it with Daedalus' help.

They were scanning doors, glancing over every name in each hallway that it all blurred together. Damn the hospital layout.

They heard the crashing sounds as the man tore up everything in his path to get to them.

Rex read that King Minos placed youths in the maze to be sacrificed. And a huge hulking beast inside called the Minotaur who ate humans. To keep it hidden, and to feed it, he built this elaborate death trap for man.

And this was a Minotaur man indeed. Rex was not sure when the monster ended and where the man begun, because all he could see was that bull-like creature.

He would dream about this later, he was sure.

His legs were cramping, an unusual sign. He had not been keeping up with his parkour training, and his sleep was greatly disturbed. He could feel the fatigue setting in. Miguel noticed this and yanked Rex into another endless hallway.

Not endless- there was an exit at the end. Rex's vision was narrowing, however. He could not hold up his stamina.

The Minotaur was a creation, an abomination. The offspring of greed. When Minos prayed to Poseidon to summon a Cretan Bull from the sea to prove to everybody that he would be the king. Poseidon delivered, and he promised to sacrifice the bull to Poseidon.
