"I know, isn't it the most beautiful place?" Cass smiled fondly of her homeland. She loved it, you could tell that much. Now to spill the secrets of mind reading. She smiled softly "Gottcha, eager this one is." She smirked and pulled out of her pocket a stone. A beautiful green and white stone, not chipped or cut at all. She placed her hand over it and muttered something. The stone split perfectly in two. She looked at me, "Here. Take this. It doesn't make you able to read minds but it does help. I still carry mine but I don't need it anymore, well for the mind reading at least. I just think it looks beautiful and brings back memories, you know?" I nodded even though I didn't know at all. I mean I have never owned a mind-enhancing stone before but proceeded to nod anyway because she seemed sentimental. Obviously, she didn't care to point it out. She smiled and said, "Okay now I'm going to take this and put a piece of it in your neck." She actually seemed to think that was normal. "IN MY WHAT? Are you kidding? Cass that'll kill me," She laughed. "Okay, now that's the best I've ever heard. It won't bloody kill you! It's magical. Oh, and It grants you something that is both a gift and a curse in my opinion. So let me do it!"  A curse, no bloody fricking way. I jumped up, " Hell no! What is the curse?" Cass patted the sit, signalling for me to sit back down. "It's not that bad. Immortality." She smiled sadly. "Immortality?" She rolled her eyes, "Did I stutter?" Andddd... The attitude has returned. "Watch it shorty." She snarled. I turned around to yell again but she clipped the chip of stone into my neck. "HEY! CONSENT IS EVERYTHING!" She chuckled, "Maybe on Earth it is." I began to be flushed with worry, "What if it falls out? What if someone asks about it? What if everyone dies around me? What if I have surgery and they take it out? Will I age? Will I forever look 15?" Cass' eyes widened, she looked confused, "It can't fall out. Just cause someone asks doesn't mean you have to tell. Well,  a perk to having the stone is, you can summon pieces of it and don't worry hell never runs out. Believe me, we don't. We can create more with magic. But you can summon pieces and give them to your family or loves, you won't need surgery, because you know immune to diseases, same with age. You'll age until about 25 or so, I mean how old do you think I am?"  Relief washed over me. "20?" She laughed hard. "I'm 481," JESUS CHRIST! "Bloody hell! YOU'RE JOKING!" Cass swished her hair, "No, hunny I ain't." And for the first time in a while, I smiled genuinely, knowing I could read minds and live forever in peace was comforting. Greatly. "WHAT IF THE WORLD GETS DESTROYED?!" I blurted out. She laughed again. "If ever the world is taken from us, our people, the ones with the stone, are resided back here in hell." As I said, GREATLY comforting.
