That night we were all at the pits and were waiting for our ranks.

“After the first round of fights, we ranked you according to your skill level. The number of points you earn depends on your skill level and the skill level of the person you beat. You earn more points for improving and more points for beating someone of a high skill level. I don’t reward preying on the weak that is cowardice. If you have a high rank, you lose points if you lose to a weaker opponent,” Junho explains to us transfers.

Kris growls looking to me and I quickly look away forgetting he was there looking at me harshly.

“Stage two of training is weighted more heavily than stage one, because it is more closely tied to overcoming cowardice. That said, it is extremely difficult to rank high at the end of the initiation if you low in rank in stage one.”

“We will announce the cuts tomorrow,” Four starts explaining this time. “It could be four of you faction less while the dauntless born stays or it could be the same for them. Here are your ranks:

3. Yoona

4. Key

5. Kris

7. Kyuhyun

8. Jongin

9. Jessica

Oh my gosh I am in 6th place! The fight between Kris and I and me beating him made me go high up, I heard Kris growl at the score and glares at me again oh come on! Kai isn’t dead last but if the dauntless born are good then Kai might be faction less… I can’t let that happen! Key is really good and wow Tao first place really cool!

“What I can’t be below Key what the hell!” Kris growls out loud. Charisma smirks at this.

“Maybe don’t make a habit of losing to low ranked opponents then.” This made Kris glares at me again and walks up to me.

“This is your fault! Thanks to you I have gone down… I am watching you,” he cracks his knuckles and I shudder walking next to Tao, this being done Kris walks to his friends. Phew. I looked to Yong Guk and Kris and they both walked away quietly. I know this is not going to be the end of it, I wonder what they are planning?

“Wow Tae 6th place congratulations for you!” Tao smiles happily.

“Me what about you, first place good for you!” I cheered. We went to celebrate by eating and drinking then soon going to bed, I hope the dauntless born didn’t do too well.

While sleeping I was thinking of my brother, I should visit him soon to give the message from mother to him. I really miss my brother so much and maybe if I didn’t leave to dauntless and went for Erudite then maybe we would be doing well together. AHHH! I jumped up hearing a scream and looked for a light. The screaming came again and I knew that voice.

“TAO! WHAT’S WRONG!?” I asked him worriedly. “Turn on the lights!” I order and the lights turned on and there I saw Tao crying on his bed and blood, what how is he injured?! I see knife that was stabbed in his stomach and a slash on his right cheek.

“It hurts take it out!” he cries and I shush him calmly.

“Shh Tao we can’t take it out, if we do then the bleeding will intensify,” I insist and he shakes his head side to side.

“No I wan-t it o-ut,” his face was so scared and in so much pain. Key went to get a doctor and I started disinfecting his cut on his cheek. He hisses in pain and I would apologise every time. A doctor came and took Tao to the hospital and I went to change my now bloodstained clothes. I looked around the room and both Yong Guk and Kris weren’t here, those assholes!

“Should we tell who did it?” Key wonders.

“Yeah we know it was Kris and Yong Guk so why don’t we?” Kai insisted. I looked to the two sadly.

“And what would they do? If this was any other faction it would have been dealt with but this is dauntless, they don’t care,” I sighed sadly. They both looked down and we all went to bed. No one went to sleep that night.

It was morning and I saw Tao’s bed cleaned up and saw Jessica and Kyuhyun’s bed all done and there was nothing on it anymore.

“Hey what happened to Kyuhyun and Jessica?” I wondered asking Key who was tired as hell.

“They quit. After last night’s events they decided to quit, and two dauntless born were cut as well,” Key explains and I nod. “Jessica didn’t want to t be here alone without Kyuhyun so she went with him.” I looked to the ranks and saw it change.

At least they didn’t get rid of Tao, but now Kai is last and I am second last, we have to step it up a notch if we want to stay here.

It was the next day and there I was sitting down in a hallway which was all new to me and with both dauntless born and transfers. Charisma had done 5 dauntless born already but when they came out, they were not the same. I am kind of worried. The door opens from the entrance and there I see Tao walking with a stick in hand, when he saw us he smiled and waved.

“Hey guys I am back,” he smiles.

“Already!? You feel alright, how does it feel?” Key went all umma on Tao and Tao blushes.

“W-ell I am fine, I need to take it easy but I know that won’t happen. Anyways the tests from here are sitting down so it is good for me now. Has anyone of you done it yet?” he asks sitting carefully.

“No but I think its bad considering how 5 dauntless born came out like they had seen a ghost,” Kai explains looking worried at the door. “This is it guys, probably after I go in there I might be faction less in no time, I am useless.” I pat his back trying to comfort him.

“Sh you are not useless. We will get through this,” I state and then I heard something I was hoping not to hear anytime soon.

“Tae come inside,” I saw Charisma call me and I nod walking to the door, wonder what the test is?
