The doorbell rings only once and Storm has already forgotten his blueberry pancakes. He gets down his chair clumsily, almost tripping along the way and Taehyung swears his breath hitches for a moment when Storm did that."Storm, please be more careful!" Taehyung shouts in concern, tailing along the little boy. Storm stops for a minute and went towards Taehyung to cling on his left leg.
"M'sorry, papa. Just excited," he mumbles. Taehyung bends down to pick Storm up and he rakes his fingers through his disheveled hair.
"Come on, let's go get the door for daddy."
The kid squeals in excitement making it hard for Taehyung to carry him because he's wiggling inside his embrace. Taehyung could only sigh and he pads his way towards the door. As soon as he opens it, Storm almost leaped towards his father's arms, giving Taehyung a mini heart attack.
"Storm, be careful! You're scaring your Teacher Tata!" Jeongguk hisses, but it seems like he doesn't even care about what his father just said because he's now hugging him tightly, his face nuzzling on the crook of Jeongguk's neck.
"I missed you, daddy! Papa Tata and I had fun yesterday! I hope you were there, though!" Jeongguk looks at Taehyung apologetically before mouthing him, 'Sorry, he's just like this every morning." Taehyung, on the other hand, just shrugs the apology off and invites Jeongguk inside his apartment for breakfast.
"Hey, Tae? I couldn't thank you enough for taking care of Storm the whole weekend. I hope I can make it up to you with dinner tonight?"
"Jeongguk, didn't I say it's okay? You can leave Storm with me anytime you want and we'll be perfectly fine. And what do you mean by dinner?"
"I mean, I'll take you out to dinner, tonight. That is, if it's okay with you? I'll leave Storm with Jin hyung 'cause I already told them beforehand... well, if you don't have something to do tonight and-"
"Mr. Jeon, you're rambling."
Jeongguk gets cut off by Taehyung who's now looking at him funny, lips curved into a tiny smirk as he's leaning on the kitchen counter.
"So..."
"Dinner's fine with me, Guk. Now go home and spend some time with Storm," Taehyung says, reaching over to tap Jeongguk's cheeks.
"I- yeah, we should go home. Thank you, Tae. Really."
"Shush, thank me later over dinner. Stormy! You and daddy are gonna go home. Did you prepare your bag already?"
"Yes, papa!"
"Papa, huh?" Now it was Jeongguk's turn to smirk.
"Shut up. See you tonight?"
"Yeah. I'll see you at 6."
"Storm, baby, say goodbye to Papa Tata."
"Goodbye, papa. Thank you for a fun weekend! I'll be back soon, don't get too lonely without me, okay? I purple you!"
"I purple you, too, buddy."
Storm plants a big smooch on Taehyung's lips before he looks away in embarrassment. The two could only coo at the little boy and it's when Taehyung closes the door that everything sinks.
'Did he just ask me out on a date? Wait, no. It isn't a date. He's just thankful that I took care of Storm for the weekend. It's not a date... or is it?'
