Liana

My everyday routine is to collect my breakfast from the cafe that I used to work in which is handled by Stacy now.

"How was it?" She asked. "He said he loved it and you guys have met before."

I smiled and then my eyes widened in surprised. "I forgot to text him last night." I panic and she smiled. "I did you a favour. He have your number."

And I sighed in relief. "He didn't text me yet." I said checking my phone and Stacy nudged me with her elbow and grinned. "You like him much?"

I rolled my eyes and collected my coffee and bagels. "Later tonight?"

"Your place? Caitlin is in." She grinned.

This is our thing now, Friday is Mia, Caitlin, Stacy and my night. Not like we always head to the club but we always have some thing to do on Friday night making it less boring for us.

When I reached the office place, Jamie- the new intern was panicking with materials in his hands.

"What's wrong?" I asked him.

"I have to edit these and submit this evening."

I winced. "Dylan's order?" And he nodded.

Dylan is the CEO of the George's Publishing. In his mid 40's he have achieved a lot of things, from building up his career and earning millions from all the publishing to being a perfectionist. He was a cool guy to me- well, maybe because he and I have been working closely since I joined and some people accused that I am his favourite and he shamelessly agreed too. He is the suppose to be cruel boss, who makes you do things over and over again until you are up to his standards and whose glare can make you run for the hills, but he is really nice when it comes to his wife who works in the same office- at the finance department. They don't have any child making people think that is the reason why he is heartless.

"Liana, in the office." Dylan announced in the intercom and I winced as everyone's eyes turned to me. All the staffs give me a thumb up and I walked nervously to his office.

"Take a seat." He tells me as soon as I walked in after knocking at his door.

I sat down nervously and he said, "I have a new project for you." And that made me sit up with ears attentive and head fills with ideas. He chuckled at my reaction.

"What is it?" I asked excitedly.

"We have a writer, who requested that you draw for her book." He said. "She is very picky and is the New York's best selling Author. It's a challenge. She is young and have great expectation."

"I'm up for challenges." I said.

"That's the reason why I agreed with her." He smiled at me. "You will be working with Team A, in this project."

I nodded my head. He passed me the unofficial book that I am suppose to read and make a relatable cover on.

"I'm counting on you." He said.

I nodded excitedly. As soon as I step out. I saw some of the interns and people who are younger to me, hovering around me for news and I shoved them away with my hand and grinned, hiding the book away from them.

"Li." Lauren whined.

"I need Team A in this project." All of them whined and the people in that team came forward proudly and pushing the others away.

"We have things to work on." I tell them. "Group meeting this afternoon." I tell them. "Liam." I called out the intern who was working with us for quite sometime now. His eyes widened and he looked nervous. Liam, he is pretty good with his work, but he lacks confident in his works.

"Would you like to join us in our meeting and this project?" I asked and everyone gasped at the same time. Yes, I am very picky when it comes to working with people in my project and they all know that I only select few depending on how they are doing.

"Sure." He said stammering.

"Sweet." I said. "Don't be late." And walked towards my office. Yes, I have my own office which is separated from the others and that have to do with my personal space and Dylan's order because he said in order to maintain my identity, my office should be a  safe haven and he believe that my space allows me to bring out the best in me.

My phone rang, "Liana Parker." I answered.

"Liana." I heard Dylan said in a hushed voice. "You never told me you have a hot friend, he is here to see you."

My mind was thinking of who it could be and I asked, "Who?"

"Oliver Lee." He said too excitedly and my my mind went blank for sometime.

"I am sending Melissa." I tell him in panic. "He must not know about me." I stood up. I was glad that my office have blinders all over making it hard for people outside to see what I am doing in here.

Melissa, is what I would like to call a representer of mine. Sometime, she pretend to be Leanna Jameson when reporters come with news that they have pictures of me and want interview with them.

I heard a little fumbling meaning that Dylan was trying to put himself together and said to Oliver, "Would you like to take a seat? She is coming."

I ended the call and forwarded a message to Melissa to tell her that someone is here looking for Leanna Jameson and she knows what she have to do. I was anxious, but at the same time I know that Oliver will never ever be able to figure out unless he have someone followed me up.

There was a knock at my door and I was scared, but when I saw Hailey peeping inside and smiling, I was relieved.

"Delivery for you." She said bringing in big bouquet of flowers and placed it on my table.

"Who is it from?" I asked.

"Don't know. The security brought it up." She said and excused herself to get back to work.

I found a letter inside and opened to see in neat handwriting it says,

"Still waiting for a call, here is beautiful flowers for the beautiful woman. -K"

I smiled and looked at the different colour roses. It was heart warming though. Instead of calling him, I texted him with:

"Hi, this is Liana, sorry about not calling you last night. Thank you for the flowers, I promise I will call you later in the evening."

When there was another knock at my door.

"Come in." I said and I saw Dylan's anxious face popping in. My smile faded when I saw who was behind him.
