Namjoon ~

"Bye!" I heard Seokjin say to Gahyeon in the living room. He's been gone a lot lately, not that it matters to me at all, just an observation.

I rushed into the living room, "Where you off to?"

He stopped before he opened the door, "To go see my friend." He seemed excited. Too excited.

"What friend? Since when do you have friends here?" I said, not meaning for it to sound like that.

Gahyeon started laughing, "Ouch! Geez, Jin, he's mean today." He laughed along.

"A friend I've made recently, am I allowed to bring guests here? You could meet him if you want."

"Uh, yeah. Mi casa, su casa, or whatever." I scratched the back of my neck, but smiled at him nonetheless.

"Shut up!" She laughed.

"Anyway, I'm off. Bye, Joon. Bye, 'Yeon!" He seemed super excited to live with my sister now. Which I guess is nice, but also weird. They talk to each other more than he and I do. He doesn't seem to feel awkward with me anymore. I don't really know how to feel about that. Is that bad?

Eh, whatever. That's future me's problem.

Once the door shut behind him, Gahyeon lost it laughing. She could barely make out words. "Oh, oh Geez, Joon!" She fell to her side on the couch, "Y'all, whew, y'all have history." She calmed herself down and pressed play on the movie she was watching.

"What? No, no we don't. We're friends. The only history we have is mutual friends."

"Yeah, okay. That's totally why you know about Jin's new friend and why you started asking him questions about him."

"I-I just wanted to know more about him in case he comes over. I always wanna know the tastes of a potential guest." I answered quick.

"Yeah," she rolled her eyes, "Okay." I thought the conversation had ended there, but with Gahyeon, there's always surprises. "Is that why you avoid him all the time?"

"I don't avoid him!" I cleared my throat, "I don't avoid him."

"Well, for highschool best friends, you aren't very friendly with each other."

"Hey, I'll have you know, just a few weeks ago, we were a little too friendly with each other."

"Ah, bingo! So you do have a past together, and it's recent." She put her hands together and placed them behind her head, leaning back on the couch, "Which one of you fucked up?"

"That's none of your business!"

"Ah, so that means it was you." She made a clicking noise with her tongue and gave me a sad smile.

"That's not true,"

"So Jin?" She asked, I stayed silent. "Not him either, which by default, means it was you. What'd you do?"

"Drop it, 'Yeon."

"Oh, come on, you can tell me!"

"Gahyeon, drop it!"

"Yeesh," she put her hands up, "Fine, deal with your screw ups on your own. When you need help, don't come to me." She pulled the book she'd previously been reading, back up to her face and buried her nose in it like the lonely bookworm she was.

"Shut up, go make some friends or something." I answered. She just scoweled at me.

A few hours had passed and around eight thirty, the front door opened. In walked Jin and his new 'friend', I already had a bad feeling about him.

"Hi, guys, this is Matt, Matt, this is Gahyeon," he gestured to her, still sat on the couch, buried in her book. "And that's Namjoon." He said gesturing at me with his head.

"Hello," he said cheerily, "Nice to meet ya." She outstretched his hand and Gahyeon gave him her own in return, giving him a good handshake. "Matthew Kim."

"Cool, an accent!" Her eyes went wide, "I-uh," she cleared her throat, "I-I mean, it's nice to meet you. Your accent is nice."

"Thanks, got it myself." He joked, and offered her a big, shiny smile. Fuck him and his excessively shiny and beautiful teeth. Of course Gahyeon and Seokjin laughed, it wasn't that funny. I don't understand why they laughed. He walked over to me and stretched his arm out. I refused to shake his hand and instead, just offered him a head nod and a tight smile. He pulled his hand back and gave me an awkward smile, "Okay, 'sup?" I just shrugged my shoulders and turned around, directing my attention to the coffee machine on the counter. "Alrighty then," he said quietly under his breath.

"Anyway," Seokjin spoke up as 'Matt' walked back over to him, "let's get up there real quick."

"Get up where?" I cut in. I heard a snort and we all turned to Gahyeon, just to see her desperately holding back laughter through her hand.

"Uhm, we're going upstairs for like five minutes." Seokjin responded.

"Okay, I can't stop you." He grabbed a hold of Matthew's hand. This was new.

"Let's go," he offered him a small smile and one was returned to him, like a mirror. Seokjin walked slowly up the staircase and made his way to his room, Matthew trailing behind.

Once they were out of earshot, and their annoying giggling ceased, I mocked him, "Hurrdy-hur-hur! 'Murica! Cali life 'namsayin?!" I said to Gahyeon.

"Hey, broski. D'un't get upset just 'cuz he hot 'n stuff." She mocked back, yet defending them through it.

"I've got a bad feeling about this guy."

"Why?" She didn't lift her eyes from her book, "Because he makes him laugh and didn't do anything to upset him yet?"

I sighed deeply, "Whatever, if he murders you both in your sleep, I'll show up to the funeral just to tell everyone I told you so."

Jin and Matt made their way down the stairs with Seokjin's jacket, and smiles strung proudly across their faces. I hated that.

"Alright, I'm off. Bye, Namjoon. Bye, Gahyeon!"

"Wait!" Seokjin turned to Gahyeon, "You got your keys?"

"Yeah, pretty sure."

"Alright, be safe!" She sent him a wink and Matt just laughed.

"I like you, you seem cool." He said. I didn't want him getting all buddy-buddy with my sister.

"So do you, are you a senior in highschool by any chance?"

Matt laughed, "Nope, sorry to dissapoint ya, kid." He pat the top of her head and turned to Seokjin. "Let's bounce?"

"Like a rubber ball," Seokjin answered.

"Ew, I love and hate that response." Jin giggled at that. "But you said it, so it's okay." They just smiled at each other. Ew.

The door closed behind them.

"Namjoon, be nice." Gahyeon said, before burying herself in her book once again.
