Chapt. 43

(Lana's pov)
"There is no way I'm sleeping on that for all of summer." Sarah said, taking a deep breath. I laughed. "Well you're going to have to roomie. It's not that bad. We used to have to sleep on mats during nap time." She sighed. The two of us were in charge of a cabin together. I was super excited to make new friends, hang out with my other friends, and spend time with kids! Summer was going to be awesome!

"Come on! Let's look around." Sarah said. I nodded. The two of us then met everyone else in the main area. "So. Many. Children." Ruby said, eyes widened, in shock. I laughed. "Ruby, it's kind of a summer camp." Kimberly giggled. I smiled. The camp was beautiful. There was a large main area, next to a big room with both a stage and many lunch tables. There was a shimmering lake and a beautiful blue sky. Everything was so open and I was extremely excited to spend my summer there!

Harvey and Dylan then headed over to where we were, Harvey slinging his arm around my shoulder when they arrived. "Did you guys get to see your cabin?" He asked. I nodded.
"Sarah is not excited to sleep on the beds." I giggled. Sarah sighed. "I don't blame her, they're so uncomfortable." Ava cringed. Emily nodded.

A girl with a bright smile and dark brown eyes then came skipping up to us. "Hello! What's y'all's names?" She asked, with a thick southern accent. I smiled, as she seemed extremely friendly. "I'm Lana, you?"
"Rachel." Everyone else then introduced themselves to Rachel. We talked for a bit, and she was super sweet! I was happy to have already made a new friend. "So Rachel, how long have you been going here?" Tom asked.
"Around four years now I guess." Dobby's eyes widened. "That's a long time." She laughed. "Nothing compared to the Ledges, Wellings, and Blacks. They've been here since as early as they could start going. You'll probably get along with them. Though, Carter and Sam have been a bit difficult the past year. I would hope they would have changed, but through texting they don't seem very different. I did hear Jenny Freakin and Carter Black broke up since last summer though. I will admit, Carter is pretty cute. I would stay away from Sam though. Bit of a player if you ask me." She looked at us for a moment; "I'm rambling, aren't I? Sorry." She gave us an apologetic look. I laughed a bit. "It's fine." Emily said with a smile.

"I'll just introduce you to everyone in a bit. That'll probably let you know a lot more than I would tell you." Everyone nodded. All of us then headed towards the cafeteria to hear an announcement.

"Hello everyone! Welcome to camp Whitefield!"
