I move to adjust Kichi on my back, deciding that it might be better to let him sleep. I can always wake him up when I get lost.

Kichi groans slightly and moves, probably to get comfortable. He moved his head closer to my neck, nuzzling it slightly. This action caused me to freeze, everything seemed to freeze for a second or two. I start to regain my breathing, guess I didn't notice I wasn't before, and continue to walk.

Kichi did say he didn't want to go back to base, but it is dark, maybe I should start heading back, or at least to Tsumugi's.

I start walking but before I know it, I can barely see. Kichi is somehow still asleep, I guess that's fine but maybe I should find some shelter, or something so we don't get atta-

There's rustling in the bushes. I freeze and tighten my grip on Kichi, if I could see that would be nice.

I see a what appears to be dark horse like figure, it's most likely a unicorn. Sure, unicorns are know to be these friendly creatures, but that's only when their tamed. When their wild on the other hand, they are very territorial and their horn is ten times as sharp. People dull the horns when tamed, like a mark of domestication. They also don't travel far from their territory due to wanting to kill whatever is too close to it meaning...

I'm way too close.

I start to back up slowly, hopefully it won't see me-

Snap.

Of course, why would I be able to safely make it out of this situation? It starts to move closer, I remember always being told to slowly back up from something like this, but I can't risk being attacked, not while still carrying Kichi.

I drop Kichi from behind me, but before he could hit the ground I move him so I'm carrying him bridal style. The creature did not like that and started to pick up speed, I turn around and start to run.

It's probably no help that I don't know where I'm going, but if I travel far enough it will just go back to its territory, right? I continue to run making random lefts and rights to try to lose it.

Eventually I do lose it, but I also lose the only way I could get back. I sigh and sit down on a rock setting Kichi down first. I look up and think about the situation I'm in.

It was only a few days ago, Kichi said I was asleep for awhile, but it feels like yesterday. Everything at the kingdom was simple, pleasant, boring... boring? Would I say it's boring? It wasn't as eventful as this sure, but I still found things to do, maybe I was just so used to being content with everything. I still wouldn't say being in danger like this is necessarily fun, I just can't wait to go back to my kingdom, to see my uncle, to become king.

I feel a pair of arms wrap around me causing me to jump and almost let out a scream if it weren't for the hand going over my mouth. "Geez Princey, your going to get chased by something again if your loud like that." Princey?...that voice. I look over and see Kichi smiling at me, a friendly smile, but also one that knows exactly what they did. And yet I still relax knowing it's just him.

Kichi moves his hand then I realized something weird in his statement. "Again?" I repeat.

Kichi tilts his head slightly "hm?"

"You said 'you're going to get chased by something again'. You would only know that if when I was chased you were awake." I say thinking out loud.

"Nishishi, wow your reallllly overthinking this," Kichi giggled "Yeah I woke up, but since you seemed to love carrying me, I decided to pretend to be asleep." He said letting go of my arm and putting his hands behind his head with a smile.

"When was that?" I ask looking over at him.

"Oh, when you dropped me." He said looking around.

"Oh, so-" I start to say rubbing the back of my neck only to be interrupted.

"But I could be lying about that." He says with a smirk.

"What?" I give him a confused look.

"Maybe I woke up sooner, maybe later, maybe I never woke up, maybe I was never asleep, maybe it's all the truth."

My head was spinning with trying to understand what he said. I can't find a response to that, what was the truth? Man I can't get a straight answer out of this guy.

"Anyways~" Kichi says standing up "We should head back, or at least find some sort of shelter so you don't get us killed." he said stretching.

"Why would I be the one to get us killed?!" I ask, slightly offended.

"Because you don't know the area that well." Kichi shrugged and waited for me to stand.

"Oh... right" I say getting up, he did have a point. Suddenly I feel rain start to trickle down, it wasn't too bad, but it was getting heavier.

"I think we should go now..." I say putting my arm up like it was supposed to help.

Kichi looked at me with a black expression before taking a few steps towards me.

"K-Kichi?" I ask looking at him, confused by his actions.

"Y'know...rain always makes for a good kiss scene." Kichi said with a grin on his face.

"W-Wh-What?!" I exclaimed taking a few steps back.

"What's wrong princey?" He tilts his head slightly but doesn't stop walking towards me.

I end up hitting my back to a tree. He walked up to me and looked up with a smile "You heard what I said right?"

"Uh...k-kinda?" I say extremely confused and uncomfortable. He pulled me closer to him till our noses were almost touching.

"K-Ki-" I try to say before he smiles and pushes away.

"It's a lie!" He exclaims giggling.

It took me a second to realize what had just happened. "T-That wasn't...funny!" I say trying to calm down my extremely red face.

"Aw but your expression was worth it!" He giggled looking up at the now pouring rain. "But for real we should either head back to Tsumugi's or find shelter," he said turning to me.

I try to calm myself down and convince myself it meant nothing since it was all a joke. Which should we do?
