"We're going." I wasn't going to leave them behind after all they have done for us. They needed our help now, it's only fair.

"Be sure Shuichi, it could be dangerous." I could hear the seriousness in Kichi's voice. But I already made my decision.

"I know. But we're not going to abandon them." My tone was equally as serious. The other two seemed to have gotten the hint.

"I'll tell the others." Nagito said before walking off.

"Do you even know what you signed up for?" Kichi asks once Nagito is out of earshot.

"Not exactly... but I do know the others have helped us, and I'm not one for leaving people behind." I said confidently. Kichi stared at me for a few seconds in silence.

"Well, let your leg heal up. I'm going to go see what our next move is." Kichi walked off to the group. I can't help but be sad as he leaves. 'Did I say something wrong?' I convinced myself that I didn't and tried to listen in on the others' conversation.

"Are we going to pass by it?" Kichi asks and I can see Nagito nod. Kichi is quiet for a while. I couldn't help but wonder what was on his mind.

"We'll pay them a visit." Nagito said, putting a hand on Kichi's back. Kichi gave a smile in return.

"Well in that case we got to get some gifts right?" Kichi said in his normal chipper tone. I got pulled away from the conversation as Alter sat next to me.

"They're all talking about serious stuff, said I was too little to get it." Alter pouted and I laugh a little bit.

"Well I don't mind your company." He wears a bright expression as I tell him that. It's nice to see him so happy after all that happened. I think Chiaki actually found a way to blur his memory of the zombies. I think it's better for him that way, he's too young to have to remember something so terrible.

"You really care for Kichi don't you?" I was caught off guard by Alter's question. My face flushed a little bit as he stared at me with interest.

"Of course I care for Kichi, he's helped me through a lot." It still amazes me how willing Kichi is to help me. I can't help but question why he does help me so much. I appreciate it sure, but why me?

"I knew it!" Alter smiles, "You care for Kichi the same way sissy cares for Nagito." He looked forward. Aren't Chiaki and Nagito dating? He doesn't think me and Kichi are like that... does he? "I don't really understand what it is though. They tell me it's different from how I care for Chiaki and papa. But I care for them a lot! I care for Mondo and Ishi, and Hajime and Nagito! I care for all of them! But it's not the same. I was hoping you could try to explain it to me."

His attention is back on me and I feel my face heat up again. He definitely thinks me and Kichi are dating. Should I try to tell him we're not? I mean there's no harm in it, so why am I so hesitant?

"Oh well.. me and Kichi aren't quite like that." Alter looks rather confused so I kept explaining. "Chiaki and Nagito care for each other romantically, while I do care for Kichi a lot, we're not exactly romantic." This was rather hard to explain to a child.

"So it's like when I really really really love someone?" I nod to Alter's question. "But it's more than I love my family?"

"Not more just... in a different way. Usually it's when you have a strong bond with a friend. You two feel inseparable, like you complete each other. You help each other through everything. It's a special feeling." As I talked I found myself locking eyes with Kichi. He gave me his typical bright smile and I felt my heart race.
