"Midoriya!"

"Dude!"

"Deku!"

A flock of heroes in training were crowded around an unconscious body of multiple open wounds and cuts visible through his torn attire. His emerald green eyes that shone with determination and promise were closed, his proudly adorned mimick of All Might's costume was ripped, and his hands flopped from the robot-carried stretcher.

"Midoriya..." A silverette bit her quivering bottom lip harshly. She looked solemnly at a brunette weeping into her right shoulder and hesitantly patted her back, very slowly. She turned back to looked at Midoriya's bedridden body, then back at her hand. She had never seen someone so young injured before, nor has she seen someone cry before. No one could blame her, though. She grew up as an only child in a big family of robust adults and was made not to cry. She never met many of her age that were friends -- the exception of an explosion that always stood and never fell from his promise. She kept her eyes glued to Midoriya, not wanting to look or even spare a glance at Bakugo. Finally, after an eternal battle within herself, she saved him a glance.

Immediately, she regretted it.

A dark shadow was leaned over her best mate's eyes, covering up the dull expression he held. She looked again. And again. He didn't seem to notice her constant glance at him, and she couldn't tear her eyes from him. It was just like before, the first time Bakugo ever lost to a fight... he lost to her.

It was the first time (L/n) (Y/n) had ever before felt empathy for anyone in her life.

After sitting for five minutes, the robots pulled the stretcher back from the curious and filial students of class 1-A. "Now, Young Midoriya will be healed in no time at Recovery Girl's office, don't you worry, kids," A loud voice reassured the class. "Now, back to the topic. Ahem, the V.I.P. for this battle is..." He pointed to worldwide shoulders. "YOUNG IIDA!"

"Whaa?" Iida seemed struck with shock by the no.1 hero's decision.

"I wonder why?" All Might rubbed his chin. "Anyone Know?"

"It's because--" I started.

"I do, All Might sensei." Yaoyozuro raised her arm in a split second, and All Might gave (L/n) a let-her-have-a-chance look. "It's because Iida was the ablest to adapt to the scenario. From what I saw, Bakugo's every action..." She spared the explosive teen a hesitant glance. "...was motivated by an obvious personal grudge. Midoriya's performance suffered from the same conditions. Uraraka lost her focus halfway through, and her final attack was far haphazard. Such an attack would be unthinkable if the nuclear weapon were real. But Iida formed an actual counter-strategy, and he envisioned what the real struggle would look like -- he was only too late in reacting at the very end. The Hero Team only won because this was training with many exploitable constraints."
