"THE SPORTS FESTIVAL!"

"THAT'S TOTALLY ORDINARY!"

"COME ON! WE JUST HAD A VILLAIN ATTACK. ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THIS?"

Uncle Ai still maintained his usual nonchantlant demeanor through all the bandages. "It's neccessary. To demonstrate that U.A.'s crisis management protocols are sound is the thinking, apparently." His eyes scanned the classroom of worried students. "Don't worry, compared to the past years, there'll be five times the police presence. Anyway, our Sports Festival is the greatest opportunity you'll ever get. It's not an event to be cancelled just because of a few villains."

In the days before quirks existed, people would obsess over the Olympic Games. However, since quirks came into existence, the U.A. Sports Festival became the most-watched sporting event, especially in Japan. I shuddered at the thought of hundreds of thousands of pairs of eyes on me, watching my every movement. My heart became more panicky at the thought of Pro-Heroes from any agency nominating us for internships. I hope I get to meet other heroes other than Dad and such  -- n-not that I hate them or anything, it's just that the stories and TV appearances of the heroes are so cool!

Momo hastily confirmed, "The nation's top heroes will be all watching, right? They'll be scouting, wouldn't they?"

"They'll be looking the hire sidekicks after we graduate. That's how it's done." Denki smiled smugly. "Too bad a lot of those sidekicks never manage to go solo. They're sidekicks forever."

"That'll be you, Kaminari, you dunce." Jiro shot him down.

"Ack!"

"ImaginealltheheroesohmigawdIcan'tevenbreathdoIhaveasthmawaitwhatIdon'tthinksoohmigawdnesssomeonesavemewillIgetrecruitednahprobsnotbutimagineallthequirks..." the greenette muttered uncontrollably in front of me.

I laughed nervously. "Um... Midoriya you're droning again."

"Okay..."

"Ahem," Uncle Ai coughed, catching our attention. "Naturally, you'll gain valuable popularity and experience if you get picked up by a big-name hero. But your time is limited. Show the pros what you're made of, and you'll make a future for yourselves.

This happens once a year, so you've got three chances. If you're hoping to become a hero, this is an event you can't miss!"

The whole class buzzed in excitement and eager chatter, everyone talking about the upcoming Sports Festival. I leaned back on my chair, my loose hair landing on Momo's desk.

Momo raked her fingers through my hair, a big smile on her face. "(Y/n), isn't it so cool? To finally start our first step on becoming heroes? Which heroes do you want to notice you? I'm so excited -- any hero would do for me."
