"These restraints must feel really tight."  A man who's tied up on a metal bed said. "I'm fine. Honestly, they aren't necessary at all. Even without them, I wouldn't hurt you."

"Oh well.. Just in case.." A scientist who's beside him answered sheepishly.

"Shut it! This guy has the power to brainwash people you know!?" Another scientist warned his colleague. "Until we get him in the experimentation chamber, treat him like he could still kill you!"

A smile kinder than anyone else could achieve.

Words that could put anyone at ease.

No matter who you ask, absolutely no one would guess that this man has killed thousands of people. He grew up believing in nothing but death.

He was born in the worst of slums. Parents sold their children. Friends and lovers betrayed each other without a second thought. Justice was held under the thumb of the corrupt. Medicine was used only to cripple people. And humans were living garbage, born only to be killed.

With nothing to believe in, he grew up trusting only one thing. It was the only truth he could rely on, ever since he was a child. That is the reason why he chose to walk the path of an assassin.

It was his true calling. He killed the strong with craftiness. He killed the intelligent with brute force. Nobody could escape him without talent surpassing his own. He ensnared the smart and strong alike with his personal charm. In the end, he was invincible.

He accepted any request, no matter how difficult it was. He slipped through any defense no matter how impossibly strict it was. He gave a natural death to the heads of the world superpowers. By killing two dozen of the top brass, he brought an end to ten years of feuding in only a week. In the time he spent killing thousands of people, he came to be known as the God of Death.

"Well, what a shame it is for such a talented killer to end up like this."

"But Chief Yanagisawa, are you sure it's all right to use such a dangerous person?"

"You don't understand, I hand-picked him from the list because of how dangerous he is. He has a strong body and a clear mind." A man named Yanagisawa explained. "Plus, there might be a hundred percent success rate if we use him as our experiment."

And now the God of Death found himself in an unofficial research organization that escaped the government's eye. The cause of the God of Death's imprisonment was the the time he spent working with his only disciple.

If there was one person with abilities to match his own, possibilities for assassination would expand considerably. For that reason, he cultivated a disciple.

This young man asked to be his disciple after he finished a certain job. He seemed talented enough so the God of Death picked him up. He yearned for power so he gave him exactly what he desired. He made sure to plant some loyalty to his disciple by making sure to put on full display the difference in power between them. But in the midst of his teachings of power and fear, he forgot to factor the possibility of betrayal.

'Was I insufficient as a teacher?' He thought in the 4 white corners of his room. A glass separates between him and the outside.
