Ali's PoV:
I heard the alarm on my phone shrieking through my ears, awaking me from my deep slumber. I quickly switch it off and look down to see my adorable wife snuggled up in my arms, her face buried in my chest, with her hair falling over her eyes.
As she moves a little slowly in my arms awakening from her nap, I instinctively wrap my arms around her a little tighter, like I was scared of losing her, like I was her shield protecting her from the dangers that await outside in this world. I looked towards her and felt like I had fallen in love with her all over again.
I gazed at her still peacefully sleeping in my arms and think to myself how anyone could have ever dare tell me to leave her side and marry another woman when she needs me and I need her. In fact, I'm shocked that someone could utter such words in my presence let alone when they are talking to me.
I know my Uncle is married to my paternal aunt, my dad's only sister and that he is an older gentleman from a generation that's different from my own and was born and raised in Iran hence he has more experience even though he clearly has a lack of understanding and compassion but he is from a prestigious medical background so deserves the utmost respect however I cannot help myself. If he says another word against my wife, I will surely forget my place cause I will do whatever I need to do to protect her. I know she may still not completely trust my feelings sometimes but I wish and hope that she knows I'd do anything for her. Anything at all.
But I also know the last time I defended her honour, grateful as she was, she was so worried about me getting hurt. But to me, defending her and getting hurt is but a small sacrifice for doing my job like a good husband should. No physical pain from an injury will ever hurt me more than the pain my heart feels each time someone attacks her verbally or questions our relationship. Tears threaten to spill from my eyes but I quickly rub my eyes harshly with my fingertips.
Anyway i finally pull myself away from my dark thoughts and I ever so gently moved her up so her face was now level with mine as I gently move her hair out of her eyes and kiss her lips softly, awakening my queen from her deep slumber.
Zahra's PoV:
I opened my eyes slowly, adjusting to the bright lights that were temporarily blinding my vision to see the warm chocolate brown eyes of my husband gazing at me lovingly as he pulled me up and kissed me. I smiled shyly against his lips as he whispered "did you sleep well my princess?" He asked stroking my hair softly. "Yes Ali. Did you sleep well too?" "Yes my beautiful bride, I always sleep well with you in my arms." I blush and giggle softly, as he smiles and touches my cheeks.
Suddenly my eyes widen, "wait honey what time is it?" I ask panicking slightly, trying to get up though his arms around my small body keeps me firmly in place against his much bigger frame. He then smirks a little and picks me up, laying me down gently on the pillow and towering above me, resting himself on his elbows. "We have plenty of time Azizam." He whispered softly smiling.
"Seriously honey please get up." I said though I started giggling a little. "Nope now shh let me enjoy my honeymoon with my bride." He replies, popping the p as he whispers, leaning into my lips, smiling. I kiss him softly and after we part, he feels my forehead dripping with beads of sweat glistening on my face due to the intense heat, strands of my hair are stuck to my face and he kisses my forehead, his face looks worried. Actually now that I think about it, I think he's been worried since we got into bed but I didn't notice before. He must think I'm a bad wife for not noticing his feelings that were clearly apparent on his face and yet these feelings I didn't even think to question. I have to help him, just like he helps me.
"Aye Khuda Love, you're not used to this heat am I right?" I realise that I have been feeling kinda hot and have only just noticed. I nod and Ali carefully gets up and sits me up too before rushing to get me a cool glass of milk. "Ali why are you fussing over me, I'll be fine." I say as I lean over to switch on the fan before taking the glass from his hands and taking a sip. Sitting down, he takes the glass from my hand and strokes my leg "my love, when will you realise that I worry cause I love you so much, sweetheart." I smile and blush. I nervously ask him, my face lowered, unable to look into his eyes, "Ali, did anyone say anything to you because you look upset honey. Please talk to me."
