Corey never thought it would be so much fun to annoy anyone. Well, he knew it, before he was implanted a control implant, he liked very much checking David's patience, but it was a long time ago.
Besides, it was something completely different.
This girl couldn't do anything to him - she would have lost quite a lot of knowledge and a strong ally. And that was probably the most irritating for her.
"Do not play with me" she snapped threateningly.
Why did he feel such pleasure for this reason?
"Listen" he said with a smile, "I'd personally like it if you killed this two psychos, or at least shut them down somewhere where they wouldn't have contact with the world. I would be safe then. However, unfortunately - I'm not a volunteer, I have never been."
Corey saw more fury rising in Wanda. It meant that she's becoming unstable and will not think rationally. Everything according to the plan.
"Don't you understand that with each second another research object dies?"
"And here you are wrong."
A shadow of doubt passed through the girl's green eyes.
"What?" she asked.
"People they take for research are from illegal trafficking in human beings. And you did such a turmoil six months ago that they can't take supplies of test objects for now, because it attracts too much attention. There was a reason why they had to hide. I don't think they had enough time to clean up the mess you caused. That's why it seems to me that if during the last half a year someone died from their hands, then only those who had implants before your arrival."
"Where do you get that confidence?"
"Because nobody attacked me or tried to kidnap me. And immodestly I'll say that I'm valuable enough for them, that it's definitely their priority to get to me."
Wanda leaned back against the chair and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Because you're the only one who survived the implantation of all implants?" she asked sarcastically.
Corey smiled as much as he could.
"You learn very quickly."
There was silence. The girl looked at the man with a fierce expression. Corey knew she was just wondering what he had said to her.
His smile couldn't leave his face. He had a really good mood. She probably didn't see that he had lied to her a little bit about something. But that's not bad.
As he was looking at this girl now, she was quite pretty, in fact, though she probably would have looked better if she removed the mask of professionalism she's trying to hold on to her face. She's trying to play a terrible stiff, but Corey saw that she wasn't really. Something must have caused it, something probably very unpleasant. Well, they can talk about unpleasant aspects of life. Perhaps quite by accident he would be able to move this boring girl. It has become a bit of a personal sub-goal.
"What do you want in return?" she asked.
"You're gonna help me in something."
"I said I would not break the law."
"I'm the one, who's gonna break the law, you'll only protect my back."
Wanda sighed in resignation.
"What you want to do?" she asked calmly.
"This will be some really minor thefts" he explained "if I steal from someone, I'm usually playing Robin Hood and my goals are rich people who have something on their conscience, so no HUMAN loses anything."
