Lucas' POV
When she walked in, tattered pants trying to slide off her tiny waist. I knew that she wasn't the one for me.
Scarred hands making her way to the rope, tightening it now and again.
A stink saturating her. Covering up her scent.
And that's how I knew that she belonged to that pack. Sent by the sinful bastard and greedy Luna. Always trying to be a sneaky little Alpha pair.
Destroying our lives. Transforming us from pack wolves to rogue wolves.
Taking away what rightfully belonged to him. As if stealing his parents identities weren't enough. As if killing his parents and slaughtering his entire family wasn't enough. They will pay for it all. Little by little.
I can never forget that day. None of us can. The day that wreaked havoc. Transformed all of us who were left there to die. To rot.
They celebrated our death. But now, we're here. Here to take what was ours. Is ours. Will always be ours.
One step closer to making our move. Taking our rightful places.
And maybe. Just maybe I will get my best friend back. Maybe things will get better from now. Maybe Ian will become the little, caring boy he once was. The one he keeps locked inside. Maybe he'll tear down this wall that he has up all the time.
My attention slipping back to the little pawn from that pack.
Her eyes blank as if she's become accustomed to selling herself. Yet filled with so much emotion. So many feelings swimming in those teary eyes of hers. Only there are no tears in her almost white eyes.
Her eye colour matching with the emotions that she feels. Grey.
Watching her from a distance.
She looks as if she has done this so many times before. Yet she still needs to mentally prepare herself for it. It's heartbreaking.
Her heart bleeding the same emotions that I've watched my mother bleed. Her heart beating in that familiar rhythm. But her wolf still ready to fight this war with whatever weapons she has left. And perhaps that's what will always pull me towards her.
Her strength. Her will power. Her independence.
His loud footsteps bring me back. Once again I'm staring at our goal in front of us.
Maps lie in front of us as we discuss our plan of action.
Tomorrow all of us will have our home. The one goal that we've prepared and trained all our lives for.
"We will attack from this end, Lucas. The bastard will never expect us to directly attack".
"Yes, sir. Tomorrow is our day."
The night drags on with more planning, more preparing. But I still can't stop thinking about the young girl in the next room, being ravished by our wolves.
I have this strange compulsion to stop it but if I do then these wolves will never help us to take back our pack. After all we are indebted to them. But once we get our pack back, they will pay. I will make sure of it.
I need to do it for the woman who has brought me into this world. Who had endured so much at my father's hands. His orders.
I need to make her happy. Make her proud.
