The moon peeked out through the dark clouds, telling of a storm that was on it’s way. The clouds marching forward with their dark grey army. Joining forces as they went along. Until they were heavy with the droplets of life. Then bursting to let them drive to the ground. Charcoal grey mingling with midnight black fur feeling the wind on her face for the very first time. The rain coating her soft fur, dampening it. Thick unsteady paws that she’s constantly stumbling on. Still learning.

The unleashing of my wolf has me bubbling with confidence. Feeling proud that I have Alpha blood running through my veins. But still there is only one thing on my mind. I wish I knew my mother’s title. Her name. The pack that she came from. The colour of her wolf. Anything. I wish I knew what it felt like to have her gliding her body against mine, gently caressing me. I wish I knew the ticklish feeling of her wolf nipping at mine. I wish I could playfully chase her and bite her like the other wolves do with their parents. But most of all I wish she were here. With me. By my side.

It was almost time to sink into myself once again. Letting skin take over after a last whiff of the dampened soil around me. Quickly getting into my clothes behind the biggest tree so to hide me from their prying eyes.  It didn’t really make a difference anymore. She had made sure that all the wolves in the pack had seen every part of me. But just for a second I wanted to pretend that that was not the case. I wanted to believe that I was still pure in every sense even if it was just for a moment for a moment. Slowing my breaths so I can just relax for the last few minutes before I am oppressed once again. The wind picking up again. Then slowing down gradually. Playing the game of force. Trying and testing. Listening to the nocturnal creatures call out to each other. Everything was always in harmony in nature. Mother nature was always so graceful in every single way and she always held order in every fissure of hers.

The breaking of twigs behind me has the beauty of tranquillity shattering, startling me. Immediately whirling around to see who the first oppressor was for tonight. The one who disturbed my peace. Alexia snapping her long, manicured fingers inches away from my face. A smirk settling on the girl next to her. Her hair swaying in the wind. Her eyes scanning me, face mirroring her sister’s. They shared their mother’s pointy nose and protruding eyes. Their eyes looked halfway out their sockets. Almost like a jackpot that was hell bent on not being won.
One day I will snap those very same fingers like little twigs underneath my wolf’s heavy paws. I vowed.

“Mother was delighted at watching your wolf run” Alexia boring her eyes into mine. Staring down at her has her twin squirming. Clearing her throat, trying to act as brave as she can. She’s a bad actress. Her fear seeps through her pores, my wolf smirks at this meek wolf in front of me. It was so hilarious that they were skittish around me ever since they met my wolf. But they neve were afraid of me when I did not have my wolf. “Mother was impressed with your speed, princess. So she sent you a gift” Andrea squealed. Her sister’s face scrunched up in disgust. Or was it anger? Well if so, she obviously couldn’t stomach the fact that her mother had sent me a gift. If only she knew that it was the furthest thing from a gift. They usually knew what the gift was before telling me anything about it. However, judging by Alexia’s anger, I don’t think they have the slightest clue. Nodding as I looked them straight in the eye for a second longer than I should before I shifted my gaze to the floor. Had they been smart enough to notice that I did, they could have added to my punishment.

Following them inside, I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful they were. Their figures filling out to just the right size. Their hair as pale as their skin yet at the same time it complemented each other. They were not naturally beautiful but beautiful none the less. What else do you expect from her daughters anyway?

I have learnt a long time ago that gifts from her are not really gifts. They are gifts to her but to you, they are the demon in disguise. All they bring to you is excruciating pain. Nothing else. Yet all they bring to her is joy and happiness.
