28 ; real life

maci walked to jack's house since her own house wasn't too far away from his. the walk was nice, it gave her time to clear her head.

when she got to jack's house, maci knocked on the door. jack opened it and gave her a teasing glare.

"guessing you just found out i was coming." maci laughed.

"yeah. it was too late to send you back." jack fake rolled his eyes. maci pushed his chest and jack laughed. he let her in and maci walked in. jack's house was different from daniel's. while daniel's was organized and clean, thanks to his mom, jack's was filled with toys, thanks to isla.

isla ran around the corner to see maci.

"hi!" isla waved.

"this is my little sister." jack told maci.

"she looks nothing like you. she obviously got all the good looking genes." maci teased. isla giggled at this.

"some people think i'm hot, for your information." jack pointed a finger at maci.

"sure." maci said, winking at isla which made isla giggle again. jack ran over and picked isla up, throwing her over his shoulder. this caused isla to break out into laughter.

"daniel and jonah are on the back porch if you want to go see them." jack said.

maci nodded then went to the back door. through the glass on the back door, maci could see daniel and jonah. they were in conversation. daniel had his arms crossed against his chest and was leaning against a table, nodding to something jonah was saying.

maci remembered when daniel had grabbed her hand earlier after they sang. it had made her feel better then and, now, it just made her heart race.

maci opened the door and walked outside, both daniel and jonah turned to look at her.

"you came." daniel smiled at her.

"yep." maci nodded, walking over to them, "what are we talking about?"

"the play." daniel said.

"i have a bet with corbyn that pictures of daniel in a leather jacket are going to be all over the school." jonah told maci.

"i'm excited to wear a leather jacket." daniel said.

"it's just so not-daniel of you." jonah laughed.

"and so not-jonah of you is being tied down but you're talking to-"

"okay, shut up." jonah said, going over to daniel and putting a hand over his mouth. when jonah removed his hand, daniel laughed.

"who're you talking to?" maci asked, intrigued.

"see what you did, daniel!" jonah laughed.

"just tell her." daniel laughed.

"i'm trying, key word trying, to talk to ava." jonah told maci.

"wait, actually?!" maci smiled.

"yeah. i don't know if it'll happen but she's cool so i'm trying." jonah smiled.

"this is awesome." maci smiled.

"what do you nerds want for dinner?" jack asked, walking outside now.

"pizza." all three of them said at the same time.

"pizza it is." jack laughed, "i'll go order it."
