daniel brought the car to a stop at a park. he looked over at maci, who was already looking at him.

"i hope you know the song was for you." daniel said.

"i know." maci smiled.

"your smile lights up rooms, maci. in fact, you by yourself lights up a room. it's incredible." daniel told her. maci nodded at every word. for once in her life, maci taylor was speechless.

"i like you, maci. i like you a lot. i have for awhile." daniel told maci.

"i like you a lot too, seavester." maci smiled.

"i still like tooth gap better." daniel laughed.

"my little tooth gap." maci laughed.

"your little tooth gap." daniel smiled, grabbing one of maci's hands. he brought her hand to his mouth and kissed it. maci felt her cheeks heat up.

"you're my little tooth gap? like, officially?" maci asked.

"i've been your little tooth gap for awhile now, maci. but yes, officially if you want to be official." daniel said.

"i don't know, daniel." maci teased. daniel let go of maci's hand and his face went pale.

"oh my god, i'm kidding!" maci yelled. she grabbed daniel's arm and he shook her off teasingly.

"that's rude." daniel said, he couldn't help it as a laugh escaped at the end of his sentence.

"i got you." maci smiled.

"yes, you did." daniel nodded.

"so since your my tooth gap, what am i to you?" maci asked daniel.

"you're my girlio." daniel said.

"this is actually happening, right? we're actually dating?" maci asked.

"yes, it is." daniel nodded, a smile consuming his face. he had never felt this way about a girl before.

daniel got out of the car and so did maci. they sat on the hood of the car and looked at the park. there were a bunch of kids who had walked there after school and were now playing on the equipment. their laughs filled the silence.

daniel looked over at maci. he smiled at being able to finally call her his. under his breath, daniel started humming "we go together", his favorite song from grease. maci noticed it and started humming along with him.

when they were done, they both looked at each other.

"we go together, girlio." daniel said.

"yes we do, tooth gap." maci smiled. with that, daniel put his hand on the side of her face and kissed her.
