Roman
After Deceit left, and we all sunk out, I went to my room. Needed peace and quiet, to process what that snek had just done. HE PLAYED INTO MY LOVE OF ACTING! HE WOUNDED MY PRIDE, DAMMIT! Then Virgil appeared. "What in tarnation was that performance, Princey?"
"Don't blame me if Deceit tricked me, J.D-lightfull."
"Oh, so you bring that nickname back again. Ok. Well, anyway, maybe next time you won't be such a fricking peice of shit about how you act around other Dark Sides! And I've been meaning to ask about that-"
"ROMAN, VIRGIL!! FAMILY MEETING!!" Patton called.
"Well shit."
"We might as well go, right, My Chemically Imbalanced Romance?"
"Shut up."
We walked down the stairs. Logan was already in the common room. "Wassup Patton?" Virgil asked.
"We need to talk about Deceit with Thomas..."
"Why?!" Virgil asked, as I bit back a petty remark.
"Well, kiddos, he's bound to get curious... So-"
"We must tell him everything to provide a reasonable reaction from him," Logan interrupted. Virgil muttered something about old habits, this won't go well, and some other dumb shit.
"But we can't do that Logan, unless Thomas wants to know. Deceit will stop us from revealing any information," I said.
"Roman does have a fair point, Logan," Patton said.
"HEYO, LAHDIEYS!" a familiar insomniac's voice shouted and vibrated throughout the common room. "Ulgh, Remy!" Virgil and I turned to face the Starbucks-obsessed supposed to be incarnation of sleep. "Hey, kiddo, I didn't think you'd be back so soon!" Patton said. "Meh, Starbucks closed early today."
"You drink to much coffee, it's probably going to kill you," Virgil stated dully. I chuckled. Remy shrugged. "I'll die when Thomas dies. Later, bitches." Remy walked away. "Should we ask him about this?" Patton asked. "Psh, not unless you want a totally biased opinion," Virgil muttered.
"So, I guess our decision is made! We won't be telling Thomas about the other Dark Sides, all in favor?" I said.
"But then we'd be lying, and lying's wrong!!" Patton cried.
"It's not lying per sa, it's just... with holding of the truth," Virgil said. In other words, he's saying it'd be a lie of omission.
"It's like keeping a secret from your loved ones, in order to protect them," I said. Logan nodded. "It would be a wise move to keep those other Dark Sides from surfacing. Thomas would not like meeting them."
"I couldn't agree more, Logan!" Logan nodded.
"So... we're just going to lie to him?" Patton asked.
"It's not lying if it's too protect him."
"I could beg to differ." Virgil sighed.
"Look, Pat. If Thomas does get curious and asks about them, we'll tell him. But for now... we'll keep quiet." Patton nodded, but still seemed generally uncomfortable with the whole thing. The only problem is if they just decide to pop up out of nowhere and do something they'd regret. "On a completely unrelated note, what're we planning for Halloween this year?"
I looked at Patton. "That's well over a few months away, Padre."
"Yeah well, you all just seem so anxious so I thought I'd lighten the mood." I rolled my eyes, smiling. That's Patton for you, always trying to make sure everyone is feeling good. And he was dead serious the times he told Virgil he would "physically fight him" if Virgil talked bad about himself. He cares that much about everyone. It's a good thing, and a bad thing.
"Thanks Pat, but I'm pretty sure the only anxious one is me," Virgil stated.
"And even if everyone else was anxious, Virgil would probably be the cause." Virgil nodded. Patton nodded and sighed. But now that he mentions it... What should I do for my costume this year? "I'm hoping for a Halloween video this year. And if not, I'm invading another holiday on behalf of Halloween," Virgil stated with an eerie glow in his eyes. I turned to look at him.
"Of course you'd do that, Virge. You love Halloween!" I said rather loud, making the anxious ball next to me flinch and scoot a little farther away from me.
"And like you don't."
"Well," Logan interrupted, "if that should come to pass, for said video we each should have coordinated costumes like from classic stories. For example, I could be Dr. Frankenstein."
"Lame! That guy sounds like a grade D dork! You should be the scary monster instead. You know, the real Frankenstein!" I said, half sarcastically and half seriously. Scary costumes could be really fun! "We can all do scary costumes! Like I'd be the mummy, and Patton here could be the Wolf man!" I said.
Patton smiled. "I love that idea!"
"I believe we're leaving Virgil out of this discussion, though," Logan said.
"It's alright. I've already got a costume in mind that'll scare all of you to death."
"F- from happiness?" Patton asked. I scooted away from the Emo Nightmare, who was smiling creepily.
"Sure...."
"I am officially scared of you," I said.
"You should be." I frowned at the purple tint in Virgil's eyes. I pretended to not notice, as the tint disappeared just as soon as it appeared.
"Well, come on Panic! at the Everywhere!! There's an adventure I'd love to take you on~" I scooped Virgil up in my arms and sunk out with him."
Everything is good. It's all going to be okay. The less they know, the easier it is to protect them.
"Good luck, Ro!! DON'T GET YOURSELF KILLED!!" Is the last sentence I heard from Patton before arriving in the imagination with Virgil. It's gonna be a good day.
