Deceit
Walking through the tunnel should have been the easy part. But Patton got us a little bit lost, and now we were struggling to find the way out. "Maybe we should let Deceit show us where to go? I imagine he's been down here before," Logan said.
"I haven't."
"See, he doesn't know where we're going either!"
"Actually, I do."
"But you just said-"
"Just follow me." Patton and Logan were frustrating enough as is, and Envy was just plain annoying. I walked off in the right direction and sighed. "By now I would have thought you would be able to tell if I was lying."
"Well, your speech pattern is confusing," Patton said as an excuse. I rolled my eyes.
"Guys, can we just focus? I would very much not like to suffocate in these tunnels."
"Wait, we can suffocate in here?!" Logan asked, panicking slightly.
"Technically, yes. Now move it; even Envy can only distract Apathy for so long..." We walked down the path in mostly undisturbed silence, the only noise was all of our footsteps and the crackle of the fires in the torches. Once we got to the ending of the tunnel, we found anther flight of stairs leading upward. "Well, I guess we're at the castle... Follow me, do what I say, and stay quiet."
"Alright," Patton said, Logan nodding. I sighed and walked up the stairs. We were almost to the doors when I noticed...... Two guards, large and brutish, were standing at the doors, weapons crossed over them. God, I hope Virgil and Roman haven't gotten drunk or destroyed the palace, already! I led the Lights to the beginning of the starway up to the palace doors. it was a short stairway, a dual effort on Virgil and Roman's part; Roman was being as extra as always, but Virgil was worried someone would fall and snap their neck. I told the Lights to wait at the base of the stairs, and walked up the to meet the guards.
"Excuse me, gentlemen," I said, "I need to get pass and introduce these, new Dark Sides to the kings."
"Sorry, Lord Deceit, but we were told not to open the doors by Commander Apathy."
"Apathy told you not to open the doors? No matter what?"
One of the guards shrugged. "He said Envy was being clingy and needed attention."
"Really? Well, better hope Envy doesn't use too much energy."
"Yeah."
"Then Commander Apathy would be too busy and put the Luitenent in charge."
Logan
While Deceit talked with the figments, Patton and I sat at the base of the steps. "Hey, can I see my sweatshirt?" Patton asked.
"Um, sure." I handed the sweatshirt over to Patton, and he took off my tie and handed it back to me.
"Hold please."
"Okay....?" I said inquisitively.
Patton put his talisman back, took a deep breath, and promptly passed out.
I end my chapter there! Sorry it's short, but now, onto a more exciting part of this arc, I call Cursed Light. It'll be three parts, but now I'm giving away too much, so bye. :) Have a nice day/night Guys, Gals, and Nonbinary Pals! ✌Peace Out!✌
