why did you show me the rope
why didn't i use a knife
but instead i strangled my throat
why did you show me this sight
why did you show me this cope
why did you say i had to let it be
as the water in my lungs made me choke
why did you show me the night
why did you show me this slope
why did you make me believe
now the tub is full of soap
why did you show me the light
why did you show me hope
why did you pretend to love me
when clearly you don't
