A/n: Hello again! As per usual in our delightful Friday, we have another chapter. If You like this chapter remember to like and comment!!!

This chapter is dedicated to my friend @PratsPathak. Let's kick procrastination's arse, shall we?

------------------------------------------------

'Bring the bitch to me and I will break her before Hawk does. Time is running out.'

I heard something snap and I gasped in fear. Jones covered my mouth with his palm and held it shut firmly staring at me. His lips had settled into a firm line while his eyes bore into me wide open, pleading me to stay silent.

Our very own lives where at risk and even with the slightest misstep we were goners.I willed myself to hold my breath and stretched my ears to listen as my entire body went numb.

'Did you hear that? What was that?' Wyatt said startled.

Crap. He had heard me.

'Don't overreact. It was nothing, you are just scared of ghosts from your guilty conscience.' the Colonel laughed it off.

'I think it is time we leave. It is not safe here. Hawk already knows about this place.'

'Don't order me, boy!' he roared and the deafening sound of a mighty slap echoed. I flinched and Jones squeezed me harder.

'Argh!' Wyatt groaned in pain.

'I didn't mean to offend you. I am just saying that Hawk knows of this place and he will probably send someone again, sooner or later.'

'Where is that mighty lord, anyway? I was hoping to kill him as well before leaving town.'

'I sent him away on a wild goose chase. He left this morning with his faithful minion, Jones. The downside is that the bastard took the girl with 'im.'

'Not exactly what you planned? Huh?' the Colonel laughed mockingly.

'You sent the message that you were arriving today. I had to mislead him. I hoped he would have left her behind.'

'So the lordy has a soft spot for his little bitch then?' a slow chortle escaped his foul mouth. If only that could have been his last one.

'I really think we should get out of here. Let me situate you in another place.'

'Fine!' the Colonel roared.

'I didn't want to sleep in a bed soiled by a whore's blood anyway.' and we heard him march outside slamming the door.

I almost sighed in relief but Jones squeezed my mouth in warning.

'Tsk.' we heard and then Wyatt departed.

We exhaled at the same time, relaxing.

'I think we have discovered enough, don't ya think?' Jones whispered to me, clearly still on alert.

Unable to utter a word I nodded vigorously. I was sure all blood had drained from my face as I started feeling my body slowly come to life again with sharp tingles on my extremities.

'Let us get out of here. I need to hide ya.'

We got out of the house as fast as we could looking over our shoulder the entire time. We walked at a brisque pace, both of us tense and expecting someone to lunge at us at any given moment.

'Why did Wyatt say that we were with Gerard? Was this a sham to fool me as well?' I asked almost out of breath.

'We had thought about the possibility for some time now, that someone in our midst had betrayed us. Gerard thought it best to make everyone believe we had all left together. And the fewer people who knew about it the better.' he replied his attention elsewhere.
