The door suddenly opened.

'Did ye do it?' Jones asked and plopped himself on the chair right across from Mr Smith, not giving a damn about me being in the same room. Was this how they really did their covert operations? If that was so, they needed to revise that practise before it got them in bigger trouble.

The man simply lifted an eyebrow, lowering his papers so that he would be visible. His eyes briefly darted in my direction.

Jones noticing the movement, turned his head and met my eyes as I was standing beside the door. Was he really so preoccupied to not have seen me there? Or was it just a ploy to throw me off?

What if I were an assassin, Jones? Hmmm? What if I were trying real

He nodded at me in greeting while a chortle escaped him and he turned to Mr Smith once again.

'Still here I see? You do know how to torture people...' he chuckled and turned to look at Smith once again. He shook his head his demeanor changing from happy to sombre as he turned his thoughts in his head.

'The man disappeared. Dust. Gone. Either someone got to him or he lied us and decided to run to save his skin.'

Smith took a second to exhale rather calmly. His face contorting as he adjusted to his knew reality. I was sure that the bastard they were looking for must have played them and ran away.

'We knew it was going to be difficult. But I am weary from all these obstacles' Smith mumbled palying with his quil.

Jones grinned.

'We could always turn back and none would be the wiser.'

I myself tried to appear as nonchalant as ever like I wasn't curious about what they were discussing right in front of me. Mr Smiths eyes darted for a split second to me and then back to Jones. But I was ridiculously sure they were doing this on purpose... But to what end?

'No. I am certain we will have a breakthrough at some point. Our informant is the most trustworthy person I have had. I hope he will come through this time. I want to see where this leads us, bacause I would hate to have lost those two for no good reason.'

He took a a moment to think and play a bit more with that quil. He waved the thing everywere like a sword...

' Get the men ready and have them look for whatever that scum left behind. I want no stone left unturned.I want a lead by the end of the week. We will take advantage of whatever gap we have.' he stated firmly.

Why had I had the feeling that they were talking about something well obsured in words?

'As ye command, sir.' Jones stayed quiet for a moment battling the smile forming in his lips 'Dare I ask what ye 're going to do with it?'

Wait...With what? Damn you? Speak faster and clearer!

One corner of Mr Smiths mouth raised infinitesimally, a mischievous look on his face. A very dangerous morfasm from that face. I didn't trust it.

'I am not quite sure yet but I have some plans for it. I just need a little bit of time.' And now he joins in. Great. Bloody people and their hidden worlds!

Well, yes, Foxy. You are in front of their conversation. Of course, they are doing this to rile you up! It is obvious you are the outsider and they are trying to get to your shit!

Jones laughed slightly and then stood up to fix his attire.

'Just make sure you don't have too much fun with it.'

'No promises my old friend.' Smith replied calmly.

What the bloody damn were they talking about? I was dying on the inside to find out but I put a titanian effort not to show to them how curious I was.
