This chapter is dedicated to you my new friend @kashvimk13. I hope you follow along with the story till its end and may your interest in it be lasting!!

------------------------------------

All hope I had that I was mistaken evaporated and I went numb; frosted blooded run through my veins chilling my entire being, causing the locket to fall from my fingers. Startled eyes snapped to me wide and perturbed.

Hawk narrowed his eyes at me, Jones' eyebrows shot up to his hairline while the other two just stared at me annoyed.

I cleared my throat trying to slow my heart rate. What was this locket doing in the assassins' hands? Was he looking for me as well or did Ailey discover it and this was what he meant to give Hawk? I had to admit though if they were planning on using this portrait to find me they were in big trouble.

I picked the locket up again and closed it, feign indifference.

'It slipped from my hands.' I shrugged my shoulders to emphasize, which seemed to appease them as they started talking again.

'That scoundrel is like a ghost' Jones said 'He left just enough behind him to entice us, but not enough to find him.'

'We cannot let our guard down, men. He could be anyone. Now, somebody has to tell me where the hell did Wyatt go?'

We all looked at Hawk unsettled at his words, carefully glancing at each other from the corners of our eyes to see if the other had something. Well, I was most certainly NOT going to tell him what happened to Wyatt. And I am pretty sure that wherever Wyatt was, he didn't care whether he was found or not.

'No? Anyone?' Hawk raised an eyebrow looking each and every one of us with piercing eyes expecting an answer. I saw the men cower somewhat and nod negatively to the man. See that's the behaviour I wanted to have!

But nooo, I had to go and be excited about him; I had to have these obnoxious feelings of desire every time he got all authoritative and indignant. I think I fell on my head one too many times in my adolescence.

'Go back to search and report back the moment you find something, not a minute later. Dismissed.' he said sharply and the men dispersed like they were stung by a whip. I stayed clutching the locket in my hand raising it to our eye level.

'I could use this to find him. May I take it?' I asked trying to keep my voice placid. He crossed his arms over his chest and stroked his clean shaved chin, deep in thought. Mmm, what a nice chin to run my tongue on... Bad Foxy! Bad!

He eyed me for a second before nodding affirmatively; I couldn't help but notice that the black eye didn't seem convinced. I braced myself and headed for the door, but once I had reached his side his arm had shot out and grabbed me by the elbow. He leaned closer to my ear, sparks igniting in my whole body, his lips almost touching my heated flesh when he whispered.

'Do not mistake me for a fool, woman. I will find out what you really want from me and when I do, I hope you are ready to face the consequences.'

I had never enjoyed a threat this much in my life. The pleasurable shivers that raked my body from head to toe because of his seductive voice along with the sudden chill of my blood from the feeling of danger made a very unique combination that had me weak in the knees. Damn you

Foxy! Can you for once not think about him that way? You only have a pair of undergarments!

What is wrong with you? Apparently everything.

I slowly tilted my head to the side, my gaze falling in his luscious lips. I licked mine, the ghost of them still there and lifted my eyes to his. I saw fire in those unusual irises of his, hunger even; As if he was daring me to show my true colours now before he had to chase me for them.
