SAO Meets RWBY (SAO/RWBY Harem)

Chapter 11

3rd Person POV

[Cardin Winchester with his mace perched on his shoulder and Jaune Arc opposite him with Crocea Mors drawn, leaning on his weapon as if exhausted, in the spotlight shining on the Beacon Academy auditorium stage. He looks at Cardin, who laughs at his opponent's tiredness, and Jaune gathers his strength to charge forward and swing his blade at Cardin, only for him to jump out of the way. Jaune looks back, surprised, as Cardin's mace sends Jaune's shield - and himself - flying back. Now only armed with his sword, Jaune continued to try and attack, but is blocked by the mace's hilt. Their weapons locked, Cardin forces himself up, towering over a struggling Jaune]

Cardin: "This is the part where you lose."

Jaune: "Over my dead-!"

[Jaune is cut short as Cardin knees him in the gut, making Jaune drop his sword and fall to the ground in pain. Cardin raises his mace and is about to slam it down on a worried Jaune just when the buzzer rings, the lights come back on, and Glynda Goodwitch's voice causes him to stop]

Glynda: "Cardin, that's enough!" (he relents and walks away as she comes onto the stage, tapping her tablet) "Students, as you can see, Mr. Arc's Aura has now dropped into the red. In a tournament-styled duel, this would indicate that Jaune is no longer fit for battle, and that the official may call the match." (while Jaune still lays on the floor in defeat and Pyrrha Nikos looks sad, Glynda turns her head to look at the losing warrior as he pulls out a smaller tablet with his low, blinking stats and that of his entire team) "Mr. Arc, it's been weeks now. Please try to refer to your Scroll during combat. Gauging your Aura will help you decide when it's appropriate to attack, or when it is better to move to a more... defensive strategy. We wouldn't want you to be gobbled up by a Beowolf, now, would we?"

Cardin: "Speak for yourself..."

Glynda: (to the seated and standing students, such as: Yang Xiao Long, punching the air in anticipation; Weiss Schnee, shaking her fists with an excited smile; and Ruby Rose, shaking her entire body with enthusiastic energy while squealing softly) "Remember, everyone, the Vytal Festival is only a few months away! It won't be long before students from the other kingdoms start arriving in Vale, so keep practicing! Those who choose to compete in the combat tournament will be representing all of Vale!"

[The bell rings, and students start leaving while Pyrrha continues to frown sadly. Jaune, still sitting on the floor, hangs his head in shame]

[It's lunchtime and all the Aincrad kids are sitting together. Asuna walks over and sits down. The rest of the girls stand up and leave. Asuna stops them]

Asuna: Please. How many times do I have to say, "I'm sorry."

Sinon: We're not the ones you should be apologizing to. Maverick is.

Asuna: Well can you tell him for me. No one has seen him for a while.

Leafa: I wonder why. Learning that his friend not only betrayed his trust but created a fake person to replicate someone very important to him.

Silica: Maybe Asuna really didn't have a choice.

Asuna: I didn't.

Yuuki: I don't want to hear it.

Sachi: We should hear her out.

Asuna: Kirito threatened to break up with me. I can't lose him. He's the reason why I escaped SAO and then he saved me in ALO.

Lisbeth: That's a load of crap! Kirito might have been a big part but it wasn't him who defeated Kayaba.

Asuna: What do you mean? Kirito told me he defeated Kayaba.

Lisbeth: He didn't. He died shortly after you did. It was Maverick who finished off Kayaba.

Asuna: So Kirito lied to me?

Sinon: You sure know how to pick them, Asuna.

Leafa: My brother...I can't believe any of it.

Asuna: So please, can we be friends again.

[Silence]

Yuuki: Not with me.

Sinon: Or me.

Koharu: Or me.

Asuna: Why?

Yuuki: What you did was unforgivable.

Sachi: Does anyone know where Maverick is?

Sinon: I do.

[All the girls turn to Sinon]

Sinon: I put a tracker on him.

Lisbeth: What!

Sinon: I did it during GGO. I wanted to have his back as much as he had mine.

[They all looks over as the laughing grows louder, mixed in with cries of pain from the rabbit girl when one of her ears are tugged on by Cardin]

Velvet: "Ow! That hurts!" (stops struggling and grimaces as she says:) "Please, stop..."

Cardin: (continues laughing as he turns to his cronies) "I told you it was real!"

Russel Thrush: (still guffawing with his teammates) "What a freak!"

[Cardin finally relents, and the girl stands up and hurries off, her head bowed and hiding her face from the watching table of heroes]

Pyrrha: "Atrocious. I can't stand people like him."

Blake: (staring daggers) "He's not the only one..."

Yang: (sadly, leaning her head on her hand) "It must be hard to be a Faunus."

[Suddenly the cafeteria doors open and in walks Maverick. He is absolutely livid. He has his God Mode turned on. The Aincrad girls knew that things were about to get serious]

Maverick: Let her go now, Cardin!

Cardin: What are you going to do about it?

[Maverick equips his bow. He shoots an arrow that goes straight through Cardin's hand releasing the girl's ears]

Cardin: Why did you do that for?

Maverick: Well, I thought I saw a Grimn in the cafeteria.

Cardin: What are you talking about?

Maverick: Grimn are freaks right? Well, I was shooting at a freak.

[Cardin picks up his mace. The rabbit girl's teammate comes running over to her side. Everyone watches the events]

Cardin: You want to know who the biggest freak is? You and your friends! What are you? Some type of people who got stuck in a video game and now escaped into the real world?

[Maverick is enraged. He equips his hammer and strikes Cardin]

Maverick: GONG SHATTER!

[Maverick strikes Cardin which sends Cardin into a stone column and then he falls hard]

Maverick: All Faunus are under my protection! Are we clear?

[Silence]

Maverick: I SAID ARE WE CLEAR?

Students: Yes.

[Maverick starts to leave the cafeteria. The rabbit girl and her friend approach him]

Velvet: My name is Velvet. Thank you so much.

Coco: The name's Coco. Thanks for the save, stud.

[Maverick nods at them and leaves. Cardin sees Maverick leaving and chases after him. He is stopped when he faced against a wall of students protecting Maverick. They were RWBYP and all the Aincrad girls including Asuna]

Cardin: You girls going to fight his fights for him?

[Blake steps forward]

Blake: No. We're saving him the trouble.

[Cardin spits and he and his team walks away. The girls put away their weapons]

Blake POV

[Maverick, you already stole me heart. Now, you've stolen my soul]
